This is EXCELLENT news ! I don't think any racing series does well doing it's own promoting . Just look at how successful NASCAR became with Winston , and how well IMSA was doing when thye had Camel promoting the series . Sanctionin bodies should just put the races on and leave the promoting to people that actually do that well.

+1. stick a fork in that series, it's done.

I was at the T/A race today at RA, what a raggedy ass collection of cars on the grid. some GT1 "Corvettes", some tube frame Camaros (think Grand Am), one Ferrari Challenge 430, a couple of 996 Cup cars, a few converted NASCAR machines.

this series has no identity anymore. It looked like a multi-class SCCA national race. you could also tell the level of driver talent wasn't particularly high, at least relative to the ALMS. sad.

I can't believe someone cannot come up with a Can-Am type series based on stock-block engines.
I mean, how hard can it be to design a Frissbee, Shadow or even a McLaren M8 knock-off?

You run a stock-block motor, you even put in a 'claim' on the motor ($20,000 may suffice), and have a series.
    How hard can it be?
