From Pininfarina.com This year is Pininfarinas 75th anniversary, a milestone the company celebrates at the 2005 Geneva International Motor Show with the world preview of a new concept car together with some of its projects for the near future. So we look forward to seeing you at our Press Conference on the Pininfarina Stand (Hall 1, no. 1241) on Tuesday, March 1 2005 at 10 a.m. when we shall be able to unveil the following new models: CONCEPT CAR world preview A tribute to the Maserati of the future. With this new creation, based on the Maserati heritage and on its most advanced mechanicals and realized in collaboration with Motorola, Pininfarina revives the storied theme of the true dream car proposed in a synthesis of the vision of the three companies: exclusive design, sports DNA, technological innovation. Pininfarinas prosperous collaboration with Maserati, marked by the great international success of the Quattroporte, is celebrated with this rolling hi-tech sculpture that evokes a new future context, imaginary but possible, while simultaneously paying homage to the strong and distinctive brand characteristics of the Tridente. The integration of Motorolas technology in the car realizes the seamless mobility concept: the car itself becomes an intelligent moving network, able to interact with its passengers and keep them constantly and seamlessly connected to all the aspects of their lives.
Thanks moulag. Trouble is I dont want "an intelligent moving network". All I want is a plain stupid automobile. One that can go like a rocket when I tell it to - not when its "network" wakes up...
http://www.carspyshots.net/zerothread?id=13857 A little birdcage under the glass. Stratos concept on same site appeals as well. Sorry I didn't resize, no time.
motorola?... "keep them constantly and seamlessly connected to all the aspects of their lives." how about sex lives?
I can't see myself ever buying this, mainly because I wouldn't want a computer driving my car for me. You can see it better in this lighter pic: http://img132.exs.cx/img132/6926/anteprima4blightersmall1gq.jpg
WOW http://www.thecarlounge.net/gallery/gallery2.php?mode=album&album=/Events/International%20Auto%20Shows/Geneva/2005/Pininfarina# Oh my god, this thing is an amazing concept. The canopy is a clear throwback to the Ferrari Modulo. The back end is so beautifully sculpted you can see the wind flowing over it.
Ken Okuyama led the design team, so there you go. To my eye it isn't one nationality or another, just futuristic. But not comically so, more in a supercar from 2025 kind of way.

There's a problem with that? I thought that was the point! Why do you think that they called them SNAP extractors?? A friend had a nice chat with Okuyama, about the lack of heritage in current F-car designs, how this car does emote. We can all pray that the triumphs of the past will inspire the future yet again. MC12 under this...I'd pop for it in a nanosecond. Bit of Tipo 61, but mostly just form, thinly wrapped mechanicals. Screw the electronic stuff. Bluetooth for my phone, and an engine note to make me forget the email, news, and dreck of life. The point of a supercar, IMHO. And raceable, without too much effort. 1500kg for street car is fine with safety regs. Not much weighs less than 3k# anymore, sadly.
