Hi All, Goeiemiddag I have been browsing these websites for interesting info as I am looking to buy a 328GTS this year (not in a BIG hurry, though)... So far, I have seen a lot of useful info and have some additional questions left: 1. For tall drivers (1.89m), it seems that there is a steering wheel spacer that can be used to extend the steering wheel, and provide more room for your legs. Any of you have this installed and/or know if it is effective and safe ? 2. Since I am not a mechanic, I will need to have a PPI done on any possible buy I am looking for. Have you got any suggestions for someone who could do this in Belgium (reliable and honest) or should I turn to an official dealer (e.g. FMA Antwerp). What about cars offered through the dealer; I guess no need to get a PPI on those if they provide a waranty... 3. Finally, all suggestions for where to look for a car in excellent condition are welcome. (I am browsing the usual websites such as automatch and autoscoot), or if someone has one for sale, let me know. How about EU imports, does this involve additional taxes or paperwork (saw some nice ones on German websites) P.S. I have also been reading about a Forza issue which gives some guidance on a 328 buying, anywhere I can find this issue ? All the best to the forummembers, and hopefully I will find my dream car ! Frank
Hello PBE624, get a profile - get answers Our com....munity: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134665448&postcount=405 Please don`t get me wrong, but we realy wanna know to whom we are talking. Your Sincerely Wolfgang
Hi Frank, Like Wolfy says you will get a better response when we know a bit about you. 328 is deffo the way to go though (I am biased!) - just get one with history and the right 'feel' about it, that has been looked after with sensible mileage (not too low/high) and you will have great fun. Trust me.
Hi Frank, The 328 is a good choice! The performance is still good if you compare it to a modern car and it is a Ferrari in every part. I owned one and I am 1.94m. It is not the most comfortable car in the world if you are that tall but it did work. If you are 1.89m you will be a lot more comfortable because of the 5 cm extra headspace. Yes, you can have a spacer installed. It is effective and safe. It gives you more room for your legs, makes it easier to shift and gives better reach to the steering wheel. Every Ferrari garage can do this "fairly simple" procedure. The cars offered through the official Ferrari dealer are more expensive. If they are the same price than you can expect less about the car at the official dealer. Also do the dealers not provide a full warranty. You can BUY an "expensive" warranty if you like. My experiences with Ferrari Antwerp concerning a 328 is not always very good. Nevertheless they can perform a good PPI for you. But just keep in mind that this does not mean that they give you any form of guarantee if something breaks. There are several places to have a good PPI performed. Contact me by email and I will send you more info about this. I will look out for a good car for you! Please send an email to [email protected] and we continue this talk from there. Ton
Hi to all, as suggested, I made some updates to the profile, must have missed that section when coming aboard, as I am not too familiar with these sites. Currently have an MB SLK from 1998 with 115.000 km, which I am going to keep, but am looking at the 328 GTS as entry into Ferrariworld. Thanks for the different replies so far, and I will keep you posted on the search and results. Regards, Frank
