Hello Group! My name is Shane and I just purchased a 1981 308GTSi. I'm always looking to meet other car enthusiasts! Let me know if anyone in Colorado would like to get together and give me some tips on my newly purchased car. Shane Clarke CPT, USAR
Shane I just got in from shoveling a foot of fresh snow from my drive. My GT4 won't be going out for a bit, but welcome to Ferrari land here in CO. There are quite a few good people out here, a cars/coffee event in the beginning of the month up your way, and some fun events. The CO section of Fchat isn't too active, but folk do make plans there. Welcome. Jonathan Denver, CO
Welcome Shane. I was raised in a small town in NE just little East of you. I was a freshman at DU in 1957. I Spent a lot of time in FC, we had a sister sarority there. I too have an 81 308 GTSi Rosso Corsa and tan. We don't have much snow here in SD, although we did have some in our mountains a few days ago. Lesson no. 1 on this forum, is to post pixs of you car and bring all of your problems to us for resolution. Klatu SAC USAF
Shane Welcome! Spend a little money and join either silver or Rossa. You will definitely get your money's worth. Don
Hi Shane, I'm in Ft. Collins as well. (Under 8" of fresh white stuff, as you are too!) My '85 308 QV is undergoing an engine rebuild right now. I'd be more than happy to lend a hand or advice for anything you need on yours.
Welcome Shane! I got my first (and hopefully not my last) Ferrari in June of this year. Let me just say these guys are a huge help with even the most complicated problems you will have (and you will have problems with a 30 year old car). The wealth of knowledge and passion from the members here is beyond measure. We all joined this site for one reason....we love these cars. Now, go to your garage and stare at it some more. You know you want to! James
Welcome Shane, post a pic of her. My Daughter lives in Colorado Springs beautiful area out there. Wade
Thank you to everyone for saying hello! I am so excited to have this 308! It has been a dream of mine for quite awhile now to own one and I'm so excited to drive it, once the snow melts that is. The car is being delivered from Michigan the 3rd week of January, so anyone in the area that would like to come by and help me do a quick tune up and detail (I own a detail shop) please let me know and I'll let you know when the car is on the truck on its way from Michigan. Here is a photo of her last week when I went up to Michigan to buy her. I hope everyone has an awesome Christmas weekend! Grigio/Red? Looks cool! Your biggest hurdle here in Ft. Collins will be the emissions test. Hopefully it passes that test with no issues. Did the location it came from in Michigan require emissions testing? A 2 valve injected car won't (or shouldn't) have too many tune-up issues. New filters and an oil change should be about it if it hasn't had them done recently. Do you have the specifics for the last time the cam belt & tensioner bearings were replaced? That's probably the issue you would need to address first if it hasn't been done recently.
Welcome and congrats! I'm new to the forums as well and new to ferrari ownership, just got my '84 308 about a week ago. Having lots of fun with it and wish the same for you!
I've been relying on the expertise of this board for a couple of years since I bought my 1880 GTBi. Great folks with a wealth of knowledge. I'm down in Parker, hope to see you at a Coffee and Cars event in the Spring!
