Although I've joined the forum 6 years old never actually posted anything. I've been a porsche fan all my life but is seriously considering a 458 spider. I'm curious if any of you had any positive experience networking with some of our local Ferrari owners here in Houston. I've recently relocated from Dallas to Katy with my family and I'm really excited meet some new friends in the area. Any feedback and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Where in Katy? I'm near Cinco Ranch and Spring Green.

I am going to Supercar Saturday tomorrow and probably Ride & Shine on the 19th.

Look for the black Modena with Stradale wheels and big yellow Brembo calipers.

Plus my "little shop" on N. Post Oak Rd. We have a couple of Ferrari goodies on hand, as well as a few other toys. We're only 1/4 mile north of I-10!

There are 2 types of f car owners in Houston.. the more popular ones are the ones that talk about doing something, might go to a car show and if the weather is between 76 and 78 degrees with a -40% of rain and no clouds within 437 miles of the car show and its .78 miles or less away, they will drive their cars there.. park them for about 30 mins, then tow them back home for the next years show..

and then of coarse the very few that actually drive there cars and meet up every so often and try to do things with a group of people..fyi, when i meet up, i drive my car more the 150-250 miles that day..regardless of anything else.. heck, its 45 miles just to get to Houston, but to me, that's the joy of owning a great car that was built to actually drive the crap out of it!!!

oh, if you have to tuck your shirt in before you go drive.. your in the first group!!! haha

i have been here for most of the last year, albeit without any of my cars, and i have enjoyed meeting ferrari enthusiasts from all corners of the ferrari community. most if not all of the people i have met are nice and interesting. so you will enjoy it.

show with the people you want to show with.
drive with the people you want to drive with.

if you dont mind my not having a car here, i will be happy to meet up with a fellow fan. :)

I can appreciate that. That first night gave me 'food hangover'. I had more brisket, shrimp, and quail in one night than I had all year!

I was hosting a fellow shop owner from Atlanta. I had purchased his Dyno. He was kind enough to deliver it, himself. So I made sure to show him some Texas hospitality.

He had no idea how awesome Rodeo was. He left Houston making plans to come back with the family, this summer, and put in some track time!

In the meantime, just give me a heads up before you show (a day or so) and I can give you 'the tour'!

stated at 59 and 105 and went west from there.. we usually do this once ever other month or so

some times, depending whops going , we will start in Huffman and take back roads from there, but i live close to there.

If there is some more interest, we can all get together and do the drive soon.. but every time i set something up, one one person seems to come out.. but ill try it one more time if there is interest.!!

Interesting side note (definitely not comparing, just contrasting) when I had the NSX we could easily get four or five of us at a minimum to go do a mini-cruise for lunch, usually headed north or west or northwest of Houston.

I am interested as well, with one timing caveat. Picking up my car tomorrow from having the front bumper painted ... dreaded rock chips. After the twenty-one day cure I will have clearbra applied to the full front. Five or six weeks from now is the soonest for me. Don't schedule anything purely around that because I can attend the next one.
