Only two? You're 15, think big. You need a late model 8 cyl, a late model 12 cyl, a Challenge car for track use, then you get into your post Fiat older cars, then your pre-Fiat older cars ....

    Welcome, and cheers, Will

I was in I-banking. Money is only good in NYC and only when you get far along. Also no job security so you can't really spend it as you don't know when the next reorg is. On the other hand a job with Goldman is hard to beat. If you are serious about it, and you have to be, you need to realize that I-banks only recuit from a very select list of schools and are only looking at the cream of the crop. IE top 10% at certain top teir undergrad schools. So you should study hard, get a 4.0 and a 1500 on your SATs and go to Wharton undergrad or a few other select places (HYCP or certain other schools with an undergrad business program).

There are some good places to work in DE. Being a lawyer in Delaware is a good deal, Skadden has an office and the other firms pay the same base as the new york city firms (BTW there is a nice 360 in the hercules building which I assume could be owned by a Potter or Pepper partner).

Just remember, and I am telling you this from experience, the reward for hard work is more hard work. (and 7 cars, a house on the main line and the money to shop for a ferrari in your twenties :) )

Welcome aboard, Prancing Horse Fan from Delaware. Obviously with such expensive tastes in cars, you'd better work your fanny off getting good grades and then parlaying it into something that throws off alot of spare cash. As a plaintiff's attorney, I will tell you that when you work long long hours, you'd better be doing something you love, irrespective of whether it makes you a lot of money. As David Kassir so brilliantly once told me -- if you do more than what you are paid to do, eventually you will be paid more for what you do.

I am in the Washington Metropolitan area (Montgomery County, Maryland) and host a huge Formula 1 car gathering/party every year, with a ton of awesome exotic cars. My F-car is a red 1987 Testarossa, which is a BLAST to drive. I am also into Porsches and have a very cool custom-built yellow 911 and a black 928S4. If you send me your e-mail address, I'll send you some cool pics of my new garage with a couple of the cars.

I wasn't clever enough to come up with a cool chatboard name, so I went with my actual name - go figure. Well, enjoy watching boys with fancy toys sitting in their offices wasting corporate time writing posts like this. Perhaps you'll get down sometime to a gathering -- very very fun, and there is always a good opportunity for seat time in many exotics.

cool, after reading evilfij's post im having second thoughts about going into investment banking, though i am interested in doing investing on the side. but now that i think about it i would be interested in something in a finance career, like mbna exect or maybe a financial adivsor or something. dunno yet, i'll wait till next year when i start really looking into colleges.

Go to the best school you can get into and get a 4.0 while there.

Don't let me discourage you from I-banking. Buldge bracket I-banking is the best gig you can get strait out of school. It just is a miserable existance.

well i dunno what the best school i could get into is. my gpa for this past quarter was a 3.4 or 3.5. last year i was getting 3.7-3.9 cant remember my final one.of course last year i was in all phase 2s(1 lowest, 4 highest, 5 if u count AP) this year in two of my classes im in phase threes. so while i may be getting a slightly lower gpa its because im in a couple of more chalenging classes. but u didnt discourage me, you mad some good points. but like i said a financial advisor or mbna exect would probably be better. do you know anything about a financial adivsor's salary?
