Hey everybody! In a completely random event last week, my wife and I both had a desire to own a Ferrari. It makes no sense for us. But... the desire is there. I came here to start looking at info for the 348 and the F355.

I'm a mechanical engineer because when I was 10 I walked around a Hummer H1 and began asking "why is it LIKE THIS?" and ever since I've been asking that question. Cars were DEFINITELY my passion.

That passion has been gone for probably 15 years. I tried to be "practical" when I got out of college and chose to buy a VW diesel instead of a Hummer H1. That diesel was part of the VW scandal and I sold it back. I used the money to buy a military surplus Humvee. That resulted in a political fight that resulted in trips to the senate to be able to keep the truck on the road.

Then I started a business. Then I started a family. And somewhere in there I completely forgot about how much I loved cars.

We stopped by the Greensboro Ferrari dealership a while ago and I toured the service department to see some work in progress. The manager mentioned how some parts were impossible to get, which is one of the things I hate most about the "rare vehicle" world. Hopefully I can do something to help. Here are some awful pictures of the F50 I lusted over in the shop:

Well first off- WELCOME to the FChat community :cool:

Second- Lusting after an F50 is something pretty much everyone on here can relate to.

Third- Embrace the passion and use this insanely deep, knowledgeable and passionate community to help you learn and enjoy the world of Ferrari.

348s and 355s are awesome (I own a 355) and like all Ferraris they have their nuances. Use the forums and search functions to learn about both and don't be afraid to ask questions.

The amount of passion, camaraderie, knowledge and general love of all things Ferrari on here is beyond belief.

Welcome to the madness- Cheers :cool::D:p

There is nothing practical about a Ferrari. It is pure pleasure.

Think about it. When was the last time you remembered a meal at a fast food chain. BUT a nice meal made by a real chef that excites the tastebuds...you will remember that meal forever!
