Discussion in '458 Italia/488/F8' started by ajr550, Feb 28, 2019.
A pleasing shape wrapped around a smaller and lighter LB platform would be a pleasant surprise. Instead more likely, a polarizing design backed by much tech wizardry will wow the 'new' buyers. For the faithful; those who overlooked the F8 will perhaps embrace a new perspective regarding the charms of that older design. The F8 is mobile nostalgia docked in a sea of change.
I think that these days are over. Cars nowadays need to have a certain size to accommodate their hefty mechanical parts, as well as their crash structures, not to mention the passengers' compartment, which is getting larger every decade (as people are getting taller-larger). Also, wheelbase and front and rear tracks are important. A major manufacturers cannot (should not, I shall say) build an 800 CV Elise. Only fools and horses (the Brits will get the reference) would like to drive such a thing... lol
there's some slippery slope going on.
8 cylinders becomes 8 with turbos.
aww, just make it a 6 with spools and a battery.
soon it'll be: hell, a 4-banger displacing less than a six-pack with turbos can be quite peppy.
Hey! let's add GPF, ADAS, ad infinitim... it comes in red. people like red, don't they?
i'm getting too old for this ****.
Actually it was that long ago (about 10 years ago) a Dino could be bought for sub 50K prices. Hindsight is 20:20, unfortunately foresight is not
Then they’ll ban “Red” because it is the color of toxic aggression and it makes them feel anxious.
This car is probably the favourite inside Ferrari along with the 152MVS. And I agree with that at the moment.
It will be a whole new engine, with new materials, new technology, new displacement and new position.
And the overall features sound like a promising package.
So don't loose the faith until you see it.
I heard some rumors
9000 rpm ( impressive for turbo engine)
How very 458 Italia
Any idea if the rumor is credible? Or just dealer smalltalk
Isn't a rumors form dealer
Usually are reliable, but take it with a grain of salt
Rumors about rpm of new V12 instead are difficult to belive..
F152VS = 812 VS？
Must be although regular 812 is F152VS-M (i.e. F12 tdf Modifcato) if car cover label is to be believed.

Looks like a 488 GTB body
transverse mounted V6 Motori???
Yes but it’s a mulotipo, new engine in old body car
Are you talking about the F167 ( rear mid engine V12 ) ?
And the prancing horse because it is contrary to animal's deep happiness.
New V6 TT HYBRID
Smh, that doesn't sound fun.
Maybe the F8 Tributo VS with a hybrid? Will there be a VS from Tributo or a direct switch to V6 hybrid???

Interestingly (if it’s any guide) there has not been an F8 Challenge car. Recently launched a very extensive Evo kit for the 488 Challenge. Leaves me to believe, as some have mentioned - F8 will have a short run until end 2020 perhaps a bit longer and be replaced by V6TT.

Seems absolutely logical indeed
So the product line up is becoming clearer now that Roma has been launched.
I am really looking forward to the launch of Little Brother (and 812 VS) in 2020.
