This Monza should open the door for more 1/12th versions of the Alfa 8C 2300. Maybe even a Mille Miglia Touring body kit :)

According to this intro from Italeri the Alfa 8C Monza will be super detailed all new molds. For them to say that I would suspect they will attempt to either put photoetch wheels in the kit or do some cast plastic wheels that are done to a higher degree of accuracy than normal. They already put alot of bolts, leather, photoetch in their releases so this should be very nice.

Thank god they did not do it in 1/16th scale like Revell has been doing. The Italeri 300SL is also in 1/16th but that is a reissue with old molds.

Tom, what's your opinion of the Hiro 335S/315S body?? I'm sure he's just scaling-down the 1/12 version...have you seen it in person? If so, is it fairly accurate?

Not sure as they have not sent me the kit yet. I am pretty sure it is a scaled down 1/12th body. I bought the Hiro kit of #0674 instead of #0684 as I am almost positive FPPM's #0684 MM winner's body is a lot better and also half the price. The 1/12th Hiro #0674 is not to bad, although it has issues in the rear part of the body.

small update on the 917 - no pictures.

was painting the orange Gulf livery, and the front left caytalized on me so now have to rub it all back down and start over... UGGGG! I think I went in too heavy on my first coat. sad thing is the fine line tape worked great! so I had a really nice crisp edge, but about 1" square caytalized and started to peel up... such a pita!

getting a smooth paint finish on these models ( resin part ) is really hard as cleaning the release agent takes multiple steps... and lots of priming sanding and re priming... pics coming soon.

I was thinking it was a Matra but I think the next Hiro 1/12th kit might be a Alfa 33TT12!! .That would be great. I would also like it in 1/24th scale.

Probably the prettiest body Bertone ever put on a Ferrari.

Actually, I think bigger rear tires would cure the 'lowness'...those look too small at first glance.

Cool. Nice to see. I wish Tamiya would release a new Ferrari model. The F8 would be nice.
