I now have both the 1/24th and 1/12th printed Porsche 917/10 kits from Mezzo Mix. This really is a stunning model kit(kits). The printing quality is very high with little cleanup required. Parts are very nice and thin where needed. I think the body is very accurate and captures the look better than any other 917/10 model kit I have seen, and all the vents are open and thin. The only thing I think could be improved are the wheels and tires. The step on the wheels is slightly off and the tires could have more detail, but Hiro does the same mistake on alot of their wheels/tires. Overall if this kit had printed decals(this kits decals are nice but not printed by Cartograf) and nice photoetch, and maybe machined wheels he would give Hiro a run for their money. The body I think other than the split on the 1/12th kit due to printing size is as nice as most Hiro kits bodies.

    Nice work Christian!!

Here is the 1/24th Mezzo Mix 917/10 sitting on Fujimi 917K wheels and tires. The body split should make this a perfect metal skinning application with Litho. I have to figure out the rivet pattern. The body looks almost perfect. And the cockpit detail is just as good. Decals are also good. L&M are the only decals available from Mezzo.

P.S. The body does fit tightly together. I just have it sitting like this for the photos.

Next Hiro, but no scale posted. I think it is a Ferrari GT car from the 1960's. My guess as it looks like outside laced is Ferrari 275 GTB/C #6885, I hope in 1/12th scale.

No it is outside laced and the indentation and numbers on the spinner makes me think GTB/C. I hope it is #6885

Sorry the Hiro kit is in 1/12th scale. So Ferrari 275 GTB/C #06885 Lemans 1965. I am sticking with that. That will be epic!!!

Based on what they've delivered with some other 1:12 kits...i.e. Ferrari Daytona's, 427 Cobra... I really truly hope "epic" is good epic, and not an epic failure. :D

Very true, although they managed to do a pretty good job on the Aston DBR1 other than the tires wich they always seem to screw up!!! Maybe they should hire Premium and Collectible Trading to do their design as they seem to be very accurate with everything including tires :) I guess Macau does better toys and models than Nippon.

Alpha Model says they will release a resin kit of the Ferrari Roma in 1/24th scale along with an undisclosed 1/24th Alfa Romeo kit by the end of the year.

I wish it was #6885!!! I looked and could not find a picture of this car with the dish type spinners on the front wheels, that's why I dismissed it...My bad. Last front engined win..

So that's the first error I could find on this model, incorrect front spinner unless they change it in the kit.

based on the box cover reading "NewTooling". I would say it is LOL: the wheels are too large in diameter, headlight covers appear to be 'off' as well.

Hiro 256 1/12th motor. Very pretty but the 1960 F1 Ferrari's were not my favorites. In fact they only won due to this motor being superior to most of the British motors. The rest of the car was due for replacement. I think the weird 1959 and 1960 Ferrari front engined cars styling came from Vanwall influence . Vanwall's were strange looking, but also amazing for their time.

Next up from FPPM Fernando Pinto models in 1/24th scale, the W196 French GP winner aero body along with a W196 slipper body followed by the W125 1937 !!! Also another 1950's Ferrari F1 coming after those two.

With the Hachette F1 1/24th series we should soon be able to do most of the F1 champions 1950-2020 in 1/24th by late next year :)

Hiro 256 kit in 1/12th scale. They may not be perfect but still alot better than 99 % of the diecast models. Notice the spinner is different than their clue photo. If you want to play a game play it honestly!!
