That 333 looks really tasty; but I sure wish Hiro-San would produce his kits in 1/24 again...getting sick of all these enormous (and expensive) kits....

Quite a process revealed today for doing the carbon fiber tub: Primer/surfacer, paint gloss black, apply decal masks, overspray with gunmetal, immediately remove decals, clearcoat.
Also MFH state that due to production schedules the first batch of this model will have limited availability.

Not quite yet. There are some adjustments and some decisions being made and the prototype is expected to be finalized in a few weeks. As for quantity Mezzo Mix is a one-man band and it's pretty much "print on demand" although, in this case, the printing is being out-sourced to China.
His previous 1/12 scale stuff has all been printed in-house but 1/8 is too big for his printers - and note that the body is in 3 parts partly for print size, partly for "authenticity". Lol.

Thanks for the info. Not a fan of China, but I do understand about the size of printer needed and the economics of it. Still wondering on pricing of curbside and engine detail kits.

To do one of his 1/12 scale kits takes several printers running overnight. It just doesn't "scale" LOL.

Oh boy...that's a lot of printer work...$$$. Too bad we can't pay in scaled down money! :D

Thanks for posting that. I've just sent him a link to a file I found online to see if he can make a 1/43 out of it.

So I said to him that maybe F1 would be good as the cockpit and suspension could be printed together except for the wheels. He did several of them and they look good. I ordered the Tyrrell 012 Boomerang to check quality but it looks pretty good. He should be careful to stay to scale and not make the suspension to thick. If the suspension is to fragile to hold the car up you will have to mount it to a base with supports. Accuracy is more important than strength.

Tyrrell 012 Boomerang available in several scales printed along with several other F1 cars.

I told him he should add 1/20th scale even though I don't collect that silly scale :)

Pre order direct from Hiro. You have to do that now before it is released.

@Lusso123 he's now announced that he is hard at work on the IMSA version and that both LM and IMSA versions will be available as curbsides or with a body in 3 parts for the possible addition of an engine kit at some future date. He's also announced, and then promptly lowered, his price for any version of the kit. The lowered price will be €650 and that does not include decals which will be done by another supplier.
Also apparently looking at going back and doing his 935K3 and 917/10 kits in 1/8 scale.

Thank you! That's a pretty good price considering the work, size and limited production.

Do you have to do anything other than leave an email request on Hiro's website to pre-order a kit? I've so far left two "pre-order" requests and I've gotten no response.....is this the norm?

@F1tommy I had no luck contacting this guy through Ebay. I wanted him to look at a file I found online and tell me if he could make a model from it but I had no response - not completely unusual for Ebay messaging but disappointing.

Ebay may have blocked most of your message. He responded to my carefully written messages several times and did the F1 models after I suggested it. They did tell me their printer is too small to print 1/12th scale models but can do 1/20th if someone wants it.
