I looked at them, and they are almost exact copy of either KA models or Crazy Modeler 246 Dino sets (don't remember which), so I decided not to get them. I already have like 7 different Dino P/E sets.

I noticed the panel line too. By putting the panel line too high it also throws off the shape of the air duct which makes a body correction that much more difficult. I didn't notice the curve of the tail on the real car compared to the kit until you just pointed it out. You have a very good eye Tom.

Thanks Ed. I hope we get more Hiro 1/24th Ferrari's soon. By the way, I need a Ferrari
P3 Belinetta from you if still available!!

Alex, I do not have the other Dino sets you spoke of. KA is normally very good. The
one thing the Hobby Design set has that their set didn't is photoetch window frames(you know I love windwo frames!).

I have a P3 Berlinetta here for you Tom. I haven't sent any out yet as I am waiting on just one small part, the side view mirrors. I forgot to put it in with the rest of the parts. I should have them next week. Then I hope to get at least one more new kit released before the end of the year.

The kits are brand new and just starting to ship. You should be able to find them at most internet shops specializing in resin kits. If you still can't find them send me a PM and I will tell you where you can find them.

I've only seen them listed so far at French shops - for €158.

    Hello Tom,
I've been doing some work on it, mostly other parts which are not shown such as interior and chassis. One big issue with the models body is the roof. The rear window pillars are not at the right angle and the rear window itself by the trunk needs to be reshaped. Fixable, just need some time to make the basic corrections but I want to have this done by next year. I have so many projects half started. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these done in 2010.

I second that! I've been waiting for this model what seems like forever. This is one of my favorite cars of all time! Ed, please finish it - I'll buy at least a few copies!
    PS: So, P3 is available?

I just need the side mirrors for the P3. I am supposed to receive them this week. As soon as I have them I will send you an email right away.

The Bertone is on top of the list. Other cars I am trying to complete are the 612P's, A few 50's Astons, a couple of early Cobras that have never been kitted and of course a few 60's/ 70's Ferraris.

    That is a cool car.

Profil needs to devise some outboard spoked rims for the front.

Damn! - Do you also "count rivets" ala "railroad modelers"? :)

[I agree btw, but OTOH how many peeps are going to notice?.....]

    Cheers,

More than you might think. 24th builders take kits pretty seriously when they spend in the neighborhood of $150. The people who are even aware of what a Maserati is are also the type to know quite abit about the car. And if they are modelers which would be the people even interested in looking at these things then it sort of sticks out. Its all in the details. We will accept generic spoked rims if we have to but would rather have correctly dimensioned rims if we can get them. I get emails all the tiem for a better source for rims but have none to offer. If you are really careful you can bring the kit spokes forward but its tricky and time consuming.

Ed, are you going to get this kit from Profil?
If you will, let me know when you do.

There are some good shots of it here:
    http://www.modulo.jp/news/f430gt/430gt.htm
Don't get too excited - it is sold out and this site specifically says that they cater only to Japanese customers and not to contact them in English.
If you poke around the site there are also a couple of shots of the 2003 JGTC "Rodeo Drive" 360.

    Really nice P3 Ed.

Any one know how good the Joker would be compared to that great looking transkit from Ed ?
I took this from Philmodelcar in the illusion that it would be my only chance for a P3 :)

    Really like the 250 Bertone.
It is one I would not mind in getting.

No worry I have one at home now through a Japanish seller that bought one for me :p
    It looks fine by me.
The 360 is still on the hunting list.

Also have a 330LMB resin body but do not know if it right.
    It is fairly thick resin.

    Arno.
