For a HUGE fan of its original NSX, this is a big disappointment. Its design seems to have deteriorated from the original concept (as often the case).
That thing looks good but its no where near the looks of the old NSX. I'm not a big fan of them though.
Better then some concepts I have seen, but no where near what I was hoping for. Maybe if they grafted this things front end and rear design on the old HSC.
Would like to see it go into production but this is an "out there" concept car. It's nothing even remotely close to a production car. By the time a car like that hit production, it would be softened, less angled, bean-counted, lifted, DOT'ed with various lighting and blinkers and such, and it would only retain half it's original allure.
It doesn't look like a next gen NSX to me. The two have pretty much nothing in common. It looks more like a competitor to the XLR and M6.
I sincerely hope that that concept doesn't make it into production. Unimpressive is a drastic understatement IMHO. Although I do like the usage of the LED's in both the headlight strip and fog light configuration.
Its not being called an NSX. "Advanced Sports Car Concept" It looks like a big "GT" touring car. The orig. NSX is a blast. This looks like its targeting an older crowd. Auto trans, 3500-4000 lbs etc. The HSC was very cool, but this is nothing like what most NSX fans were hoping to move into. They missed it by a mile........ Will probably sell a ton of them though to the older country club baby boomers. Again, not the true sports car NSX fans were hoping for. But, were a small minority anyway. Might as well keep it that way. )
There was a huge internal debate at Honda.Weather to do mid engine or go front .It looks like its been settled. There's going to be a glut of High powered front engined cars.Nissan GTR Lexus LF-A next gen Supra and now front engined Acura.
There are only a few revolutionary cars such as the NSX out each generation. This is not one of them.
I see S2000 lines here. It almost looks like direct evolution of that shape. The HSC looks more along the lines of a super GT car that the NSX was.

its somewhat unsettling that the Japanese concept cars have gotten so bulky. they are all starting to be somewhat remenisent of Harvey Earl's cars back in the day. sure, they are visually stunning (in some cases) and really have the look of power but along with that, they are starting to take on the appearance of a huge hulking bear instead of a nimble fox like they used to (MR2, RX-7, even the Supra looks small compared many of these new ones). but that's just my take on the subject.
I would defintely take NSXTER's blue previous version over that concept any day. Too bad, I had hoped for more forward thinking from Acura. BT
