That makes sense Papster....Anything I've ever put together from China you need a 5 pound hammer and an angle grinder.....
Lol, I fixed cars for many years before I went underground and guess what..............................I still work on cars 21 years later. Two weeks ago I fit a set of 6x plugs to a BF Falcon sedan I am just about to sell on Facebook.
Lol, nope. I sell quality used vehicles at a quality used price. Lol lol lol, it's got the Barra engine in it...........maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate!!!!
Sounds fishy. The turbocharged Barra six cylinder engine has got to be the best engine ever made in Australia.
VL Turbos have a real following. However, the Barra has newer and better technology. It is also a 4 litre as opposed to a 3 litre. Don't you have a twin turbocharged six cylinder yourself?
I would have loved a VL Turbo Calais 25 years ago. Unfortunately I was too poor. Very cool car for shure.
Come on a GG and I'll tell you the VL Turbo stories. Phil and Horse just love those stories. Always asking me to regale them. Again. Open the box and Post a photograph you big tease.
I wonder how much a nice VL Turbo Calais would be these days?.... hmmmmm.. Just replacing the rather pedestrian and very scuffed 16” wheels the OHOS is sporting now with these 17” versions. I haven’t had a chance to open the boxes yet other than a very cursory look to check that there are, in fact , wheels in there. But, allegedly they look like this: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks. Yes, new centre caps included. What model VL turbo did you have? My brother bought an ex-SAPOL V8 VL in about 1991 and proceeded to turn it into an absolute monster. Very bogan, but gee it was quick.
Ex NSW highway patrol. Bought it from a NSW Government auction. It was 6 months old with 42,012 klms. Fitted a modified Turbo with a larger turbine wheel, 3 inch exhaust and it had 320 hp from a 3 litre engine. Ran 13.6 quarter mile times in road going form in 1989. Amazing acceleration with a strengthened Jatco 4 speed auto box with 2 transmission coolers and an extended double depth transmission sump, 3:45 ratio LSD differential. Was very quick in the day. Much quicker than VN 5 litres which were the next performance model. Had it for 6 years and 280,000 klms. Sold it for more than I paid for it. Bulletproof. Very strong car. Worth a bit of money these days. Relatively speaking of course.
Awesome! If I recall my brothers car ran mid 14s and that felt bloody fast back then so yours was properly quick. Might have to cast my eye over them once I’m finished with this current OHOS...
