Well, that’s a whole other question. I vaguely recall selling my old cats for at least that. Some nutters will do anything for “originality”.
Seriously!, great news if people are actually buying them I can hopefully get a couple of bob for my old ones . Ofcourse Origional is best right ,even if they are 17 years old ..
Well, when you’re taking Ferrari parts, original is often worst. Plenty of other manufacturers make superior replacement parts for less money. But, if you want to win a cheap plastic trophy so you can flip your car for more money... Yeah. Stick to the inferior, overpriced original parts.
According to Ricambi's catalogue, they don't have catalysts for the left hand side. U$1089 plus postage plus import duties for the right hand side. Not sure if they are OEM. Hyperflows are now unavailable I just bought a set of Larini high flow cats for my F355... A$1,525.57 a pair (took a few months to arrive). The price included postage and import duties. Haven't fitted them yet, so I don't know what they sound like. https://www.larinisystems.com/collection/ferrari/f355-challenge/larini-club-sport-exhaust-catalysts-2.7
I just checked my records. It was late 2012 when I bought them. In fact I had Glyn fit them as part of the compliance process, so yes it was a long time ago. I’m sure your Larinis will be fine. $6k+ for a set of high flow cats is surely taking the pee one five five.
Yep ok Cheers I'll have a look,Larini gear looks great I'll investigate for the 360 spider hopefully well priced.
Just had a look at Larini website,is it possible they manufacture cats for every sports car except the 360 Ferrari ? To be continued..
Probably because running anything other than factory cats causes the engine fault light to come on. You can be sure that aftermarket manufacturers don't want to deal with the complaints or legal liability. In many countries, including Australia, making ANY change to the emissions system renders the car unroadworthy. Boo Hoo about the cost of factory parts, start by lobbying your local politicians about the ridiculous duties on imported parts, put there to "protect" our local manufacturers
I'm totally with you on the Duties that's crackers,I couldn't believe Diesel is more expensive than Ron 98 over here,But aside that I'm hearing good and not so good views on aftermarket cats,Here's a pic of the number stamped on the cats is it a manufacturers date any ref at all to age I.E replaced more recently or factory fit
Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think the 360s had any CAT issues....I know the early 430s had header issues up to 2006 and it was wise to replace those.....I have had my 360 for around 7 years now and have had no issues.....If it's more performance and sound you want I would contact the bloke in the parts section that transforms 430 exhausts to CS specifications......Looks a much better setup than capristo or Tubi and will be half the price.....
Any exhaust workshop that can weld stainless steel should be able to perform the conversion, I can certainly recommend one in Melbourne that did mine in October last year.
Many thanks lots to ponder over and will keep this all in mind I appreciate the input ,at the moment their fine and the sound is incredible just mentally preparing for all potentonal problems .also I just got off the phone with Cam at Maranello Auto Specialist in QLD they have a hire/ company 360 spider for costumers I presume, he's just rebuilding the gearbox at 200,000klms and the motor is totally origional he recons it flys, How goods that
previous owner of my car went through the gearbox rebuild in UK, I have a copy of the bill - 13K GBP, frightening!
yep cam said $10 k so that's not too bad I guess , 13000 pounds holy cow,my 3/4th synchro are clacking but no issues drives fine, when it goes it goes
Is yours close to the CS sound Serge? I would like to flick the Tubi and go down this path....When I drove the CS a couple of years ago I almost soiled my pants when I opened her up.......
Very nice Greg, I was looking at purchasing one of these for my 550, but my understanding is that the regular wheel won't fit into the boot if you had to use. Have you checked?
Hi, yes I'm aware of the problem of where to put the regular wheel. I haven't tried to see if it fits but I think the front wheel might fit in the boot with the lid open and held down by a strap. I doubt the rear wheel will fit but I've read that putting it on the passenger seat is an option. I've also read that it's a good idea to carry a shovel to bury the regular wheel and come back for it later In any case, it gives a few more options if a get a flat. If I'm close to home I could get someone to come and get the regular wheel etc... I mostly bought it because I'm addicted to collecting ****
