    Any one run across these?

I remember being shocked enough to stop and look at these brand new (1987) last year imports that were sitting around a dealer in about 1992. I believe it was in Reisterstown Md. It was a dealer right off of 695? They were selling these for about 7k$ out the door. No radio was included. I forget the story of why they were left over. Would have been neat to pick one up for the day they really went up....ha ha.. yeah could be a while....

I remember this as well. My friend had a 1986 X1/9 that had 1987 Speedline wheels on it.... If I remember right, it only had like 3500 or 7500 miles on it or something. He had it from 1995-1999 thereabouts. The owner bought it but then there was some financial issues with the dealer and the car was locked up for 2-3 years before he actually got to take delivery.

I remember hearing that as Bertone was pulling out of the US with the X1/9, that lots of the cars were in legal limbo as dealers and Bertone fought over money, direction, cars, etc.....

Thus, at least quite a few were sitting around new (1987 cars) until the early to mid-1990s.

This is all from memory, so I hope it's someone accurate, but that's what I seem to remember.

I remember there being an ad for brand new 1987 X's in the back of AutoWeek in 1989, maybe even 1990.

Wow. For $7K I'd write a check right now for an '87 with those miles.

I wrecked my '81 in college -- miss it, but the later ones seem much better screwed together.

that's because Bertone took over the manufacturing from Fiat...I do not believe Fiat badging even appeared on the last couple of years of X19 production...
