New Orleans newest microbrewery adds to the region's beer options
Interesting (and inspiring) beer article: http://blog.nola.com/brettanderson/2009/03/a_new_new_orleans_microbrewery.html

Snippet: "In 2006 Kirk Coco left the Navy and came home to start a brewery in New Orleans. He faced the hurdles of any new business: finding investors, lining up loans and untangling red tape. His fledgling microbrewery, though, had an extra challenge: Coco didn't know how to make beer...NOLA Brewing Co. was born...with a little volunteer labor from the city's beer geeks, the first two brews from New Orleans' only microbrewery arrived at local bars last week..."

Any idea where they are getting the water from to brew these beers?

Abita Brewery north of Lake Ponchartrain obviously has access to a deep aquifer to pull quality water out of for their beer. I just can't imagine the Mississippi water being ANYWHERE near the quality one would use at a decent micro-brew. But hey, I'm going to give this beer a try regardless!

Did you ever notice that Dixie beer brewed there smelled a little bit like vomit? :)
