Hello everyone, stumbled on this website not long ago and wanted to say hi. I just purchased a 2012 California and wanted to know any recommendations on nice driving (scenic routes) around the Bay Area.

Welcome! There's a great section below in the "regional areas" for Northern and Southern California. There are several groups of people in your area who drive all the time. You should post your question there and you might get a better response.

Have a great time with the car!

My favorite route driving - based on many years living in the area - is as follows:

Highway 280 or 101 to Highway 92 in San Mateo.

Highway 92 west towards Half Moon Bay.

South on Highway 35 (Skyline) at the top of the hill.

Stop at the 35 / 84 (?) junction and check out all the motorcycle riders, have a snack at Alice's Restaurant.

Highway 84 west to the ocean.

Highway 1 north and back to 92 and east to 280. Or continue on Highway 1 through Devil's Slide area and to Pacifica.

As in all things Bay Area, the only bad thing is the traffic.

    Good luck.
