Hi,please advise-just purchased an 05 f430 2000 miles the prior owner never put convertible top down - after a short ride with the top down upon putting it up discovered a square 1"x1" looked like mosaic tile indentation in plastic- investigating found that when top folds for storage it pushes a lever that looks 1"x1" that lever is part of a hinged device that is mounted near the rear deck -its function is to hold rear of top to car body when top is locked in the upright position. This lever arm rubs or pushes an indent in window when window is stowed. When I spoke to two different dealers they said "oh you only have one mark there are usually two" meanwhile I'm freaking out- has anyone seen this happen? do other people have no marks and use their convertibles. Please Help Randy in Pennsylvania Thanks

I am not sure exactly what you are looking at, without going out to look at my car, but the rear plastic window is awful and gets scratched and hard to see through VERY easily.

Just drive with the top down! :)

Try using Plexus spray plastic cleaner. It may not help the marks but it will make the rest of the plastic look much better.

Can you post a pic of the mark in the window and the offending item?

I have the dents/impressions pressed into the plastic rear window on my Spider. The dealer says there is no adjustment to eliminate and all Spiders have the problem to some degree.

No all Spiders do not have this problem but it is common. I suspect the glass is folding inwards when it should fold outward when the top is put into the down position. Unfortunatly once the indents are in the plastic they are nearly impossible to get out. Heating the plastic with a hair dryer, not a heat gun, and folding it correctly and letting it sit overnight with the top open may help but generally it requires the plastic window to be replaced and correctly folded during installation. best of luck.
