Just wanted to introduce myself as an owner after having been a member of F-chat for about 4 years or so. I purchased my car from fellow F-chatter delaney and am very happy with the car thus far. I have had it for about 30 hours and am still in the "getting acquainted" phase. The car is very clean and only needs a dash covering and a few small detail items to be perfect (for me that is). I intend to drive and show the car so it needn't be the garage beauty queen that others seem to be fond of. I look forward to participating in the F-car community and thank you all in advance for the help you have provided to date.
Since its raining here I will post a pre-ownership pic. This is the car sitting in the PO driveway. Image Unavailable, Please Login
CONGRATS !!! I may be joining the 355 Club very shortly. I have a Spider under going a PPI as we Speak; or Type.
Hey! is that a Rosso Barchetta colour spider? Or is it the light. If it is Barchetta then your the only one apart from my own that i have seen, and definately it will be one of two on f.chat. Made them for only one year in that colour on spiders. Let me know Looking at the pic bellow of mine you can see the similaritys. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If that was Delaneys 355, it is Rosso Corsa. I thought the same thing when it was For Sale. It must be the lighting.
Sure you can........... if its under assembly#27689 and the bronze valve guides were not changed to sintered steel, there is a very good chance that this update will need to be done. Good luck with the car. The 355 Spider is one of the best cars Ferrari has ever built and I am sure that you will enjoy it.
That is not WRONG. If the guides fail, you get it fixed and drive on. I love my 355; best driving Ferrari I have owned (so far). The sound of this engine is truly intoxicating! When I first saw the 355, it didn't do much for me...but the more I studied them, and learned about them, the look has grown on me. I love open top motoring, but must admit the 355B is probably the most "purposeful" looking and agressive shape.
Probably incorrect IMHO. If you've got > ~ 20k miles on the car, the valve guides should be no problem. Guide problems manifest themselves early on in the life of the car ..5 - 10 - 15 k .. that's one of the reasons why most people are guarded about picking up an early car with few miles. Regards, Pete
