Not your typical color combo...Took delivery recently. Tubi, new clutch, starter, trickle charger, chrome wheels, Alpine stereo. The black horse on the rear grill is replaced with a chrome one. I did add shields as well to the fenders. I'll send those pics soon. Thanks for all of your help. Had I known this forum existed, I may have purchased sooner, but I wanted to wait till I found the right car. Major service 2 years ago. 20,000 miles currently. Purchased for 40k from a ballplayer.

Congrats!! Nothing feels like a new-to-you Ferrari.

I have a Tubi on my 328 -- I would never go back to stock. Enjoy her.

That is one wild looking Black Cherry!

But, you've got to change out the green A/C heater cockpit display to red: http://webpages.charter.net/aircover/348/1994Ferrari348Spider.html#Modified

That's on the list of things to do. I'll incorporate that when I de-gunk the display plastic.

Congrats on the new car, Christopher!

May I be the first to inform you that your front wheels are mounted on the wrong sides of the car? You need to make sure that once the wheels are on the correct sides, that the tires are turning in the correct directions (if they have directional tread patterns). Sometimes tire shops don't know that the tires and wheels on 348's have to be mounted on specific corners.

You may certainly be the first, in fact, it's an honor. Considering the car just came back from Ferrari of Washington and had the wheels aligned and new rear tires put on. Well..I'm surprised. I do see what you are saying. I'll have that taken car of. Is there really any harm in the meantime?

Oh my goodness, Ferrari of Washington doesn't know where to mount 348 wheels?

It doesn't hurt anything at all to have the WHEELS mounted on the wrong sides, it's just a picky point that picky people like me don't like to see. The wheels are actually designed to help cool the brakes, but the difference couldn't be much. Like I said, you just want to make sure that you have a left wheel matching the rotation for a left tire, and vice versa for the right.

I might also mention that it's not a good idea to mount ONLY new rear tires on a 348. They should always be done in sets of four. There have been numerous complaints (including from meself) that the handling/directional stability goes totally to HeLL on the 348 if you try to run it with just new rears on the car. Even if there is plenty of tread remaining on the fronts.

By the way, you can read all about the various cleaning methods for the sticky gunk on Fchat. I used Goof Off 2 and Qtips because I am too lazy to take the pieces apart for the alternative cleaning methods.
Have fun driving it! 348's RULE!!!

Tires and Goof-Off will be on the way post haste. I have noticed the handling difference but attributed it to new tires. Thanks once more Miltonian. Keep the help comming.

Christopher, it just came to me that the pictures you posted might not be current. Let's just say that when the pictures were taken the front wheels were on the wrong sides. Possibly Ferrari of Washington switched them back to the correct sides after the pictures were taken??

What kind of tires did you get? If they don't have directional tread, it doesn't matter if they are mounted on the left or the right. If they DO have directional tread, the arrow on the sidewall must be pointed in the correct direction for the rotation on that side. If someone has mounted a tire with directional tread onto the wrong wheel, then either the tire or the wheel will be rotating in the wrong direction.

Sorry I'm ranting about this, I know you'll want it to be RIGHT.

Magnificent car! Great color combo! Congrat!

Don't alter too much, you can't make something perfect better in my opinion.

    Have fun!
