Hello, Picking up my "New" Mondial in a few days. Just realized there is a 7.7" speed bump near my garage entrance. Should I be concerned? I can take the long way around but, there is a irrigation area that is depressed (on a odd slant) of about a foot deep. George
Can't help with your exact question, but I've had to pass on buying houses that had driveways/transitions that weren't Ferrari-friendly.
^LOL. We've done the same. Driveways that weren't low-car friendly in general. Yeah, you've gotta be careful. We have a large oak tree that's a couple of hundred years old at the edge of our driveway. It's pushing up the driveway on one end (as well as the curb and street right there) and creating a nice raised edge that you really need to angle the car to make it over with our lower-sitting cars. Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking and pulled into the driveway from the wrong direction a couple of weeks ago. I smacked into the edge and it took a nice chunk out of the fiberglass spoiler on my 3.2. Still need to get that repaired... 2cam
Got it here with plenty of clearance. Took it slow. Not sure about the chat 'format'. I have another question, do I start a new thread? I need advice on the leather upkeep. The car had been kept in a temperature controlled garage. Mine is not so I am worried about drying out the leather. As I looked at cars of this age many times there was what seemed like excessive wear even on low mileage cars.
Hi George, Before starting any new thread, run the search function. Keying in "leather upkeep" will give you vast amount of threads on that topic. In my opinion temperature is less of a problem than ventilation, so make sure your garage is not airtight. Reg. leather upkeep: When I first had my car, of course I did not know when the last upkeep was done, so I used a leather cleaner first, and then a nice creamy moisturizer. Nothing special for cars, just something you might use on your sofa as well. Resulted in perfect protection when sudden rain entered the car but the drops just stayed on top of the leather rather than dissolving into it. Intend to repeat the moisturizing every year and especially before long trips.
The Mondial has an adjustable suspension. Just raise the chassis an inch. This is how I solved an issue in my driveway.
Well, you can’t have both! Now that the car is not kept in a temperature-controlled garage it is going to shrivel up some - thus clearing the hump in the driveway; but the leather will not look as nice. Geez! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
