    Hi Everyone,

I am in Sydney, Australia and have just purchased my first Ferrari.
It is a 1987 328 GTS and I love it!
It is Rosso red with bone leather.
I am an engineer and intend to do all my own repairs and maintenance, so be prepared to answer some questions until I can get my hands on some repair manuals.

    Cheers,
    Ross

Unlike SOME people, I believe beggars can't be choosers. Fosters is OK with me.

    Welcome !

    Well,

Welcome to the lounge! The F-Club is one hell of a world. You are bound to meet people that you would normally not be involved with, make many new friends, and drive at speeds far beyond the trooper's liking.

I think that most bleed red. But we bleed rosso corsa... That's kind of gross... Regardless - have fun, and post often! You will learn more here than anywhere! I guarantee it!

    Kind Regards,
    -Jon

i'll save you your FIRST post :)

Sometime in the near future, you'll be at rest and notice the idle is above the normal ~1000 rpm...no, it's not the fuel, not the ignition, it's the floormat under your feet. These babies have a tendency to creep forward and have the lip near the gas pedal exert slight pressure on the pedal, resulting in a faster than normal idle...

A search on the forum will show you workarounds/fixes other 328 owners have come up with...

Of course, this effect is -not- noticeable at 7000 rpm :)

    Hi Again Guys,
Thank you all for the great welcome!
Unfortunately I have had to go over to NZ for a couple of days with work, so I couldn't log back on.
Greg, in answer to your question, yes, the care was registered as ALI-46Q.
    Is that good or bad?
    Car is now registered SB-8765.
I need to change the timing belts but cannot find a "workshop manual" anywhere.
Can anyone give me directions please?

Will be taking some photos on the weekend and will post as soon as I learn how.

    Cheers,
    Ross

    Ross -

    Congratulations on the new car!!!

PM me your address and I'll put a CD-ROM in the Global Priority Mail for you. The manuals are no subsitute for experience and having the correct tools, but they'll provide a reasonable foundation.

    Now... post those pictures.
