Took delivery Friday of a 1990ts. Spent Saturday giving her a good inspection; and yesterday gave her some good exercise. Very pleased with the way she ran, maintained proper temperature, and shifted into 2nd surprisingly-well before fully warmed up. Looking forward to getting involved here on forum, especially since I plan on doing all the maintenance/repairs myself.

A couple of things I'll need to address soon:
    - needs aftermarket exhaust; thinking of trying Superformance first, then possibly de-cat. Sent email to Gothspeed as well.
    - already purchased 360 wheels; love the look plus any extra height is welcome, as I cannot make any angle into my driveway without some minor scrubbing under the front clip.
    - drop of brake/clutch fluid under transaxle after the exercise; ordered TOB seals and orings from Ricambi today and will install Saturday.
    - turn signal stalk came out in my hand tonight while doing another lighting QA before taking her for inspection tomorrow; looks like the stalk receiver is slightly split. It went right back in and can be operated, but looks like a relatively easy fix with a cleanup and some JB weld. What is the usual fix for this?

    Congrats!! beautiful car!

If you weren't planning on doing the 360 wheels, I'd say add swapping sides because the fronts are on the wrong side. The beveled cut on the stock wheels goes to the rear.

Thanks for the tip Steve; so the beveled edge goes on the trailing end of the spokes (when moving forward). Going to have to swap them before the new wheels come in, as that's going to bug me now...

Nice looking car, congratulations. Mine also came with the front wheels reversed. Swapping them gave me the excuse to clean up the bolts.

Whatever exhaust you select, pop for the cats too. As an OBD 1 car, you have less restrictions on this. Modern high flowing metallic core cats really open your exhaust. Then consider porting your throttle bodies a bit. 1.5 mm is about right. Not too much more to do to make it perform much better. If you have the older style fuel pressure regulator, retrofit the higher pressure ones. Check the PRs for their rating. The replacement is 3.8 bar. Watch out for you fog lamps. If not done already, get some polycarb material to laminate over them. If they crack, you're are SOL.

Meh, go big or go home.

The stock throttle plate is a minuscule 54mm. I had my throttle bodies opened up as much as they could go, 57mm at the throttle plate and tappers out to 62mm at the mouth = +5hp to the hubs. It also flows more air that a straight 60mm TB, which is still too small in my opinion.

Robb did yours, right? I don't think he does them anymore, does he?. Do you know if the new guys are doing the tapers? You guys finally convinced me that it's a worthwhile mod once you open up the exhaust so I bought a spare pair of TBs to have hogged out. :)

I’m actually planning to Frankenstein this car a bit. Standalone with ITB’s or maybe even Webers with an Electromotive ignition.

Yeah Rob did mine. I'm the only pair he's done because no one else sent him theirs. Which is what I don't get. It is such an easy inexpensive modification. There is another company called MaxBore that has done a few 348 throttle bodies, and I'm guessing they do put the taper in them.

I have been looking into ITBs myself and coil on plugs. As for the stand alone, I'm leaning towards Megasquirt, but I haven't ruled out any other ECUs.
