Hi Guys! Nice picture of the new ferrari 599 gtb at Fiorano, http://www.forocoches.com/foro/showthread.php?t=360489
So the ridiculous flying buttresses are not some sort of pre-release early April Fool's joke... More's the pity.
Car is too high, back looks too fat, front looks ridiculous, and wheels look stupid. I don't like it.
We saw this same car in front of the factory a couple of weeks ago. The buttresses looked sanded and obviously unfinished. Car looked good in the flesh IMO.
Anyone else think there's a little too much in common here? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh no, not another love it hate it thread? The car looks great considering the distortion of a telephoto lens. It will look evn better in person.
Let me be more specific. Same wheel arch treatment. Same shape (but not size) fender vent. Same power bulge in hood. Same tumble down from fender peak to hood. Same narrow 3 element "smile". Add in the same overall proportions and I see as many similarities as differences. This is not meant as criticism - I think they're both fine looking automobiles. But when they see the 599, I think a lot of people are going to say "Nice Corvette!"
I don't George. I always thought the new Vette looked so much like the 575 it was almost awful, especially considering the bargain price and mind blowing performance of the new Chevy. You have to give them good props... To be honest, this is the best pic I have seen of the new Ferrari GT. I am one of the few who is growing to like it, especially now that estimated stats are zipping forward due to the auto shows and car mag spies. I'd just wish they would get away from the Japanese style fronts and bloated areas. RocketBoy
Fairly absurd? You are so polite! Inevitably, when there is a new car the usual group of ignoramuses come out of the woodwork with their criticisms. If they don't like Ferraris they should stay away from this site and subscribe to wharever site they like, be it Corvettes, red kneck pick up trucks or Trabants. Unfortunately, all these folk know so little about cars that they spoil it for everyone. If they are so smart, how come they're not in charge of design at Pininfarina? Let's wait until we see the finished product in the "flesh" in a few weeks. Some of us will love it, some won't. However, as is inevitable with many Pininfarina designs they do become classics with time and we will all end up saying "how come I did not see that in the beginning".......
In all fairness this is a Ferrari we are are talking about and in theory it should look just as good in a photograph as it does in the flesh. To me it does not look desirable and thats a dissapointment as I was seriously thinking of buying one.
