    Good point, I agree.

Call me a fool, but I actually loved that movie. It is a cinematographic stinker, but it is still about racing. As Lenno says: Even bad pizza is still pizza. :)

Dumbest movie ever made .. stupid acting and the cars seemed to be having 14 gears as the drivers were continuously shifting throughout the lap :)

    Anyway to each their own

The question is, will Rubins be aiming to beat Button, or to beat Michael?

In 2005 machines, Rubins in a BAR would have been serious competition for Michael in the off-the-mark Ferrari.
But the engine change is going to seriously scramble the status quo. (Or status quota?)

Without the changes, I'd have figured this for Kimi's year.
But can Ilmor come up with a new V8 that doesn't imitate a smoke grenade?

Hey; it's racing: Anything can happen. ;)

Based on testing (for what that's worth) it looks currently more like a repeat of 2005: Alonso easily dominated testing and Mercedes is struggling to get the engine reliable.

Ferrari being strong and the tire rules changed, I'd say we'll have a much closer battle between Alonso, Michael and Kimi. My money is still on Alonso for 2006.

If there was ever a modern era driver who I always wanted to win races/ championships...it would be Rubens.

Best of luck to him but lets get back on task here.... GO MS/FERRARI! :)

honestly, if rubens were given the green light to freely race MS, it would be a repeat of prost/senna..anyone thinks so?

Some races had that potential and would have been blockbusters had Rubens been allowed to attack Michael. And I'm not saying Michael would have lost, he would have fought back and we would have had a hell of a cool race on our hand.

But it would have been only true for a handful of races where Rubens was really close. Therein lies the difference to Senna/Prost who were ALWAYS fighting and close.

Rubens is not half the driver MS is. It had little to do with the team holding him back, quite simply he lacks the talent that MS has. We have seen RB and MS in equal cars, and quite simple, RB got spanked.

I hope he will do well at BAR. He seems like a real nice guy. The only thing I can say negative about him is that he's the king of excuses. It reminds me of some guys I used to race with - if they ever came in anything other than 1st, there was a laundry list of excuses. Same with RB - he can give it 100% and lose to a better driver, but he will still say he had bad tires, bad suspension, the car wasnt working, he felt something wrong in the engine, blah blah blah.

He and JB will be a good match up. I predict they will be very close to one another and there will be rampant speculation on whether JB picked up his game, or RB wasn't ever THAT good, and on and on.

Good luck to Rubens. Now he will have the chance to prove that he is worthy of being the A driver. It may not be so easy after all.

    Go here for instance: http://www.formula1.com/news/3940.html

I thought it was interesting what Rubens had to say. Normally people say things like we want to go for victories or the title, but no, all he seems to care is to beat his former home team.

A little revenge for passes made by his former team mate? Can you say USGP05?

It's nice that not all the cars look the same this season. I'm looking forward to it.

Now I just can't wait until Toyota roll out their final aero before Bahrain.

An interesting post. My money is on Rubens. He's third overall points winner (489) behind Michael (1,248) & Coulthard (497), 5th overall of current drivers in total GP wins with (9) behind Michael (84), Coultard (13), Jacques (11) & Kimi (10). Up until the 2005 season he was a solid team player/driver. Oh and by the way Jensen has 167 points and . . . zero wins. It was time for a change and given the proper team support I think he'll surprise people this season. Let's check this post nine months from now!!!
