Porsche doing what it does best: creating a line of cars all look identical. If you lowered the Cayenne it could be added to your list.
They share the same body but i think the Cayman as a higher output engine, the Boxster is the base coupe.
From what I have read, the Cayman S is going to be introduced first, then a regular Cayman and a Cayman club sport. The boxster coupe is just what media called it before porsche named it. It doesn't really make any sense seeing as how boxster = boxer + roadster.
How does the Cayman or Cayman S fit in with the rest of the Porsche line? Does it fit in between the Boxster and 911? A two-seater 911? The Panamera if produced will sell by the boatload, it is different than anything else they offer, although more than a few Cayanne owners will trade their peppers in.
It will fill in between the 911 and Boxster, and is a 2-seater Boxster, not a 2-seater 911. I find the Panamera ugly...Porsche needs to look at being more innovative with it's styling in the SUV and other models. Leave the sports cars alone, they look great, but the styling doesn't look well on the other models.
Agreed. However, frankly, I'm not all that excited about a Cayman S that will reportedly start around $75K. In typical P-car speak that means that a vehicle optioned the way I'd want one (HID's, paint, leather, sport package) will be at least low $80K's. Too much coin, IMO.
They apparently still have plans for a clubsport cayman. The Cayman S is just the first model of the line-up to be released.
I think all 3 of those cars look great. I would be proud to own either one. I just think they cost too much.
It's a Porsche, they aren't "branded" to be cheap. I think the seden is ugly. They should not cross below the Boxster price level.
Cayman seems like a great porsche... Did the back seats of the 911 ever work even for children etc? I like the new front engine V8 twin turbo sedan that porsche is planning to bring out (new competitor for the mercedes CLS AMG 55?
