Finally I came to terms with the owner of Maserati QP-1 - 65 VIN 250!
I've been looking for a classic Maserati for a while and this is the third car that I have been involved with. The other two did not work out. The first was a Ghibli SS-70 that eventually ended up with a german car dealer. The second was a QP 1 as well, the seller reluctant to sell, so then it is not so easy to come to an agreement. As far as I know these are the only two in Sweden. Since I have small children, love classic italian cars, I find the QP 1 a perfect match. Beautiful classic italian car with room for the family! I also have a Ferrari 328 that I love, but I always have to go by my self.
So this is the story of the car: It was originally sold to the US and imported to Sweden in the late 80's. The renovation was done in the early 90's. There was a feature on the car in the leading swedish car magazine Automobil in -94 stating that this "is probably one of the best cars of its kind in the world"
Since then it has done appx 10 000km and it is still in beautful condition. What I find special is that the interior has not been renovated. It is totally original and it still looks really good! Of course the leather is a bit worn and the seats a bit soft. I intend to have the seats re-done to fix the base of the seats and not change the origial leather. I think with some professional care it can be made to look really nice again. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with a 46 year old leather interior, it would be apreciated.
There are a few small things to fix, maybe someone has some advice. None of the electric windows work, the interior fan does not work, and the different levers for heat, airflow etc are stuck.
It has been repainted in the original grigio milano, does anyone know the name of the brown leather interior?
Sorry for the lousy iphone pictures

The QP I is a fantastic car! Perfect for long rides and quite fast! But (please!) take this ol`tatty lookin`carpets out of the footroom. This is an Italian power-car and not a FORD Taunus from the ´6os!!

    Ciao!

Today I finally collected my new car! Hideous weather, thunderstorm + 4 degrees and pouring rain! Not the best way to start our relationship!. But the car ran perfectly the 30 km to my house. I love it!
So this evening has been spent cleaning the car and looking things over. I have to say that I'm amazed at the condition! It is better than I would have hoped for. When you have time to spend to look at all details, that's when you truly apreciate the condition.
This is not so easy when you look at a car for half an hour when you think about buying it.

So, could someone explain to me what these six levers are for? Ther are not so much information about this. A few of the ones on the left side are stuck.

Next question. On the steering column there is a big round knob that is removable. What is it?
Further down under, on the right side of the hood opener, there is another smaller black knob with two distinctive settings. What is that?

By the way, the radio is the original one and it works!
