No cameras or lights were used. Instead two technologies were used to capture 3D images: Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR. Geometric Informatics scanning systems produce structured light to capture 3D images at close proximity, while a Velodyne Lidar system that uses multiple lasers is used to capture large environments such as landscapes. In this video, 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute produced all the exterior scenes.

Very interesting, I worked for a company in my dotcom days that represented a comany that did this along with basic motion capture. http://www.itssobig.com/old/vmv/IE/3d.htm click the thumbnail on the bottom row for 3D Scanning.

I like Radiohead alot. Listened to the bends and Pablo Honey while driving home yesterday. Can't stand how the media acts like their the second coming of whomever. Saw this cover on RS or one of those magazines saying something like "To save rock 'n roll Radiohead had to completely destroy it". Like what fricken ever. What's worse is listening to Thom Yorke in interviews he sounds like he believes his and the media's BS about them.

    The music is great though.

    Sorry about the rant.

    Cool video

that is a cool technique and look they achieved. It's bizarre. In some ways, the music doesn't evoke what the visuals represent. I've heard much sonically weirder Radiohead songs than "house of cards."

For a music video situation, you can probably only do it once, though. Because the look is so specific and harsh-looking, if someone else did this technique with a similar outcome, the remarks would be "oh, yes, that is like the Radiohead video...." and you'd never get past it. You'd always be a mere copy of the "Radiohead video."

And if Radiohead did it again for another video, it would be a rehash of this one and the comments would be "oh yes, that is just like their last video... the one that looked just like this..."
