    Hi Everybody,

So I just bought a new daily driver, a Jaguar S-Type 'R'. Black/Black, 400hp supercharged, all windows tinted dark (it looks mean), and I'm going to have Special Vehicle Concepts in California modify it (change SC pulley and exhaust) to give it additional HP and a 0-60 time of 3.8 secs. Not bad for a 4 door family sedan, but even stock it's a real sleeper, people don't expect the performance it has.

Anyway, who cares about my Jag on a Ferrari board, right? Well, the only reason I'm posting this is that I bought it from Jaguar Elmhurst, and I just got an invitation in the mail the other day for a day at the Autobahn Country Club track, with instructors, etc., and all of it is free. I thought this was a very nice touch, and thought that the Ferrari and Lambo dealers should take notice, since they all have events, but charge $250-$350 for the events. I realize those events are open to anybody, but I bought a car from Continental and never got anything like this. Plus I referred them a friend who bought an '05 Maserati from them, and he never received anything either (although I did get a thank you letter for the referral). I would think that these dealerships should do something nice, at least for the customers who have purchased cars from them. Especially considering a new Ferrari (and some used ones) are more expensive than new Jaguars.

    My two cents.

I would agree, but ain't gona happen. I am going to FVM track day. $350. Only reason I'm going is a friend of mine just bought a Gallardo. Granted '04, but spent around $150. Did he get invited to the track day? Sure for $350!

Although I've heard mixed reactions about S-Type qualities I do like the styling. Hope to see yours someday. I think that's great that you guys have a get together like that. I received some from Mercedes as well. On the same note though, I also received from Maserati, though not from the dealership, but from Ferrari-Maserati NA.

Unfortunately, I will be in Hollywood when the event is, then off to Anchorage, Alaska for a convention. Anyway, no pics of the car yet, although you can check out Jag's web site and it looks like that, except with dark tinted windows. The dealer had a party last week, which I attended, and brought the TR, which was a big hit.
