    Hello,
I finally got a change to sign up and put up pictures of my new ride. Got a couple of months ago and have driven the heck out of it :) It's an 85 308 GTB (s/n 53753), red / tan interior. This car is a strong driver with 130K on the odometer but running like a top. I am attaching some pictures to introduce her to the forum. I have learned quite a bit from this forum and look forward to participating more in the future.

Miles or KM? If it's miles, that's great to hear.

It's a nice ride, welcome to the forums.

I agree -- love the look of the front euro spoiler; how involved is the installation and does anyone know where to source one in the US?

Love it! 130K counts. Still looks great. So my question is how crazy is the service log? Is it complete, or is there a lot of deferred mainentance?

Montego, very nice! GTB QVs are my favorite, it took me forever to find one.

Do you have any idea of what's been done to the motor to get it to 130K? IE, has it been rebuilt or had any work done other than 30k majors?

I am the new owner of a 308 with 90K, it's nice to hear of one still running with so many miles.

130k miles is nothing, you'll have many more enjoyable miles left
just keep up with the maintenance.:)

I LOVE IT!! I really like to see these cars driven like yours has. Congrats on a great car and welcome to the club.

If you have the chance could you checck my thread called "update on my not running right"? I need some info from other qv owners on resistances from you frequency valve. If you might be able to do that it would be a huge help in getting me back on the road.

I have done several , couple of guys here on Fchat.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys... Service log is very complete. The car was originally sold to the Ford Motor Company in 1985 (??) -- this is in the book. The whole suspension / steering was rebuilt at 90k miles so the car runs very good / handling is tight. The transmission was rebuilt at 45k miles secondary to "grinding" 2nd gear shift (??) by a previous owner so it should be good for a while, or I hope anyway.
As far as I know this is the original engine and has not been rebuilt -- belts / tensioners changed 7/09.
Wade, very interested in doing the euro spoiler mod; PM me so we can work out a time to do it.
Also if you guys are Dino owners would love to get in touch with some of you all (currently restoring a 67 Dino).

I just saw this message and owned the car in the late 90's. I used it as a daily driver for 3 years or so. It was a great ride and lots of fun. I hope you are still enjoying it.

    All the best,
    Peter

    Hey -
I am one of the former owners. The car was originally purchased by Ford Motor Company, which is listed in the books, hopefully you still have the original books. I sold it with the books and all of my receipts and any history I had from prior owners.

    Here's some (albiet brief) history:

    1. The car was purchased by the Ford engineering team. They wanted to reverse engineer the car and use what they learned for the a variety of platforms.

    2. When it comes to mileage, I am the one who daily drover it in New Jersey to NYC everyday and many trips after I moved to Orlando up to Montreal for F1.
I put on over 70k miles on the car and it was maintained exclusively by Onofria (Frank) Triarsi's team at Classic Coach in Elizabeth NJ. THey joked that if all hell broke loose, at least they knew I'd show up for a major service and oil changes.

I feel sorry for the person who bought it from me as my ex-wife held up signing off on title which made a mess during the divorce and cause the new owner to not be able to reg the car for months. I had know idea she was going to be so petty. It was the first Ferrari ever sold on eBay.

Anyway. That's my portion of the 308's history. I have plenty of photos from those years, if you would like them.

If you no longer own the car or if Dr. Carlos Torres still owns it, I am actually looking to buy it.

I hope this message finds you well.

    Sincerely,
    Peter

    Welcome to the club!!

I had a Shop near me with a nice Euro but high mileage.

I have been blessed with 'low miles" cars, but in fact that doesn't mean much at this point in time....:/

    It's art, drivable art:
    So, buy what you like.

And...... you know...... in real estate it's location location.
In our world (and now yours) it's "condition condition condition"..

(in memory of Gregg Blue) ...and Miki Dora too!

    Peter,
Thanks for posting. That 308 was a great car and unfortunately no longer part of my stable. Gave me many good memories and was my “first” Ferraris after many years of owning Fiats and Alfas. Your story is fantastic — I always thought that the Ford connection was really cool aspect of the car. I keep looking at 308/328s more fondly than ever after purchasing a 355 GTS last year and falling in love with the older cars again. Newer Ferraris just don’t make me feel the same way.
