Dudes, The 308 was at a car show today and i almost never get any comments about the the rims at shows (with the old rims). At today's show there were many people who on their own accord gave positive comments on the rims and there were quite a few inquiries about them. In fact one guy said he saw the rims from across the venue and HAD TO have a closer look and find out what they were. He ignored the car and loved the rims(!). Oh, and the 308 won a trophy for first place in it's class
Just received the Kinesis enamel centers for the rims. They look great and am glad to get rid of the previous rim's crap plastic centers (that after 1 year already looks faded and old). These enamel goodies should last years Enjoy the pic.
So do you want to sell those old wheels? I'm trying to decide on what to do with mine. I have OEM 14" now but want to upgrade. I haven't decided if I should stick with OEM (or replica) 16", or some other 16" wheel. I won't be tracking/racing the car so that's really not an issue. I just drive it for fun and the wife and I take it on dates.
Am selling the old METRICs, yes. The old 16x7 and 16x8 Etoile rims ARE NOT for sale as they will be the winter rims with new winter snow tires on them.
Excellent upgrade, I think they look great. Very agressive without being over the top. Has the steering effort changed a lot with the wider fronts?
Thanks my friend for the positive comments. As for steering, it seems less effort with the PS2 and i THINK it stems from the different tread patterns between the tires. The PS2 has lines whereas the K's 712 are more diagonal bits. In the end i do work out and stay relatively healthy so added effort is not a problem. ALSO, one thing i am not sure i mentioned is that i have A LOT of room now for the brake upgrade. The old rims left almost NO room for upgrades while the Kinesis K27 allows for what seems to be anything sane
OH SH*T!!! i must be brain dead and forgot about that as the new brakes are not installed. (Sigh) Well, we will see how it goes as the Etoile are not stock and the Brembo kit is said to fit under the small (16 inch) rims. We will see... Another option is to change brake/rims/tires systems: Stock brakes/Etoile/Blizzak for winter Brembo brakes/Kinesis/Mich Piloit PS2 for spring through fall Hi, my name is Steve and i'm a Ferrari'holic
My name is Russ and I am about to spend $300 on a billet A/C vent for my Ferrari ........ I feel it brother! Looking forward to your photos - good luck!
PIC got wiped when Fchat's server's HD melted down. Pics below. As for billet AC, dude, DUMP the AC, it 'costs' you about 40+ lbs of weight. The reason i went with Kinesis is to get better traction/performance AND lose weight. Ronald's (?sp?) and many others actually ADD (unsprung) weight to your car. This is a VERY VERY bad thing!!!!!!!!!!
