????? I don't remember a whole lot of recent discussion that would be found by searching, but I, for one, would love to hear more about MSR Houston. I think theyve just paved, but Id like more details about the track and what reciprocity there is with MSR Cresson. Has anyone here driven the track yet???
Yes, Cresson members can drive Houston by paying the daily track fee, just as Houston member would. The only thing I have heard about the track is that it is flat, no changes in elevation. Thats disappointing, I think elevation adds a lot to the challenge and fun of a track. A few of us were talking about making a trip down for a weekend there. I'll let you know if we do.
Dude! It's off Hwy.288 to Freeport! Have you seen that terrain? I was a surveyor on the original construction of the highway and that baby is FLAT for miles! Same numbers on the stick...over and over and over......... Send them a hill, maybe they'll install it! LOL! I suppose an infield lake would have given them something to work with.....although the other local track is on the WW2 Blimp Op Airfield...it's pretty FLAT as well.......
The land that MSR Cresson sits on was much flatter before the track. Granted, Jack Farr had more to work with than the Houston folks but Jack spent a considerable amount of money moving dirt to create some of that elevation. Jack had advised Houston to do the same but they did not commit the funds to doing it.
