I looked and didn't see a note about this anywhere, very cool! I see the 355C, a red Stradale, red 512TR and a yellow 550. Where's the 328's?
I would like to see it with the checked flag behind it like in some of the examples to fill some of that white space behind it. Otherwise its much better than the old one.
i just noticed it now and think it's really kick-ass... Whoever did it, great job... Which leads to my first question: Whose idea was it...? It looks awesome... Rob, is 134282 in the line up...? i can supply plenty of pictures for you to choose from if it's not... It should really be in there... i've seen a bunch of different cars as i jump from page to page, including 0846, 104504, someone's Enzo, a 250 GTO, a yellow 550, a 512 TR, an F40, a Challenge Stradale and a yelllow 246 GTS...
We should be thanking Site sponsor Ryan for the banner. Rob selected it from among a number of entries.
thoughts - looks good, few minor improvements on the images that can be touched up. - similar to the dino picture, the other images could be shadowed artificailly like that. however, the shadows are way too heavy and need to be lightened up. - tires are cut off, while they sit like that, cut off, on the street or showroom, they seem to look odd, as if it is a clipping from a magazine. - experimentation with the extended red & green lines behind the image? - try doing lettering in vector rather than photoshop/raster based creation, it will come out cleaner and will translate 100x's better into print when Rob throws it into Forza or other publications. other than that, I dig it. good choice on the clean look.
Ryan looked into all of those but the time involved was not something he could donate properly. Want to help?
thoughts - looks good, few minor improvements on the images that can be touched up. - similar to the dino picture, the other images could be shadowed artificailly like that. however, the shadows are way too heavy and need to be lightened up. * All of the shadows were taken from the actual pictures, although I had to trim some shadows to fit. The Dino I just used a blur on the shadow after I took out the ground, as it left a harder line. - tires are cut off, while they sit like that, cut off, on the street or showroom, they seem to look odd, as if it is a clipping from a magazine. * As for the tires and lightening the shadows underneath, this would have made each car take many times more complicated as I would have been trying over and over again to perfect the round wheels and lighten the shadows. On this batch I spent over 5 hours today, and this was only clipping photos as the banner was already done (when I spent a night doing this last week). After trying to make one car float without a shadow, I decided it was easier on the eyes to actually see a shadow, so your brain sees a floor under it, rather than have cars floating in the air. - experimentation with the extended red & green lines behind the image? * Waldo did that. I won. - try doing lettering in vector rather than photoshop/raster based creation, it will come out cleaner and will translate 100x's better into print when Rob throws it into Forza or other publications. * Yes, the masthead will stay as an .eps for print work. -other than that, I dig it. good choice on the clean look. *Thank you.
Thanks for the reply Ryan. Sometimes time is a huge factor, as well as the size of the file itself. Glad it could be kept down.
I DID! There was NO announcement that said 'Look at the new title art!'. So I started one. Besides, I hate cats.
Yeah, everyone is a critic & a Photoshop expert. Ive been a professional graphic artist for over 25 years & sure I might treat the cars a bit differently. But Ryalex did a fine job w/ a volunteer project. I, for one, salute you, Ryalex!
Agreed, an excellent product for a volunteer project on top of his real life. Thanks a lot it looks great!
