Image Unavailable, Please Login Here are the new rotors on my 16M. Notice they are NOT stock. They are from an English company called Surface Transforms, and are vastly superior to the stock ceramics. The OEM carbon ceramics are made just like particle board, from a slurry of chopped carbon fibers and a epoxy binder pressed into a mold and come out looking sorta like a rotor. Then, the hardened surface is applied. Fine for easy street use. However, if under hard track use, the surface, which is only a half a millimeter thick, is compromised, the rotor immediately fails. The S/T rotors are made by a completely different process which starts with single filament carbon woven into multiple layers, and processed in a heated non-oxygen atmosphere where silicon atoms are placed between the carbon atoms, making the rotor solid silicon carbide. Indestructible. For some reason if they need to be resurfaced, it can be done up to five times. And, the best part is that they are half the price of the stock rotors.
