I have bought a Scuderia last saturday. Picked up my car on Sunday for a quick drive and after 1 hour of highway at regular speed (120 Km/h) I wanted to exit the highway to reach destination...

Pulled left gearbox paddle and car went into Neutral instead of shifting down from 6th to 5th gear...pulled Up paddle went into 6th and again, I pulled down paddle and another shift to neutral...

Seemed car did not want to shift down from 6th to 5th...so I let the car slow down and she automatically shifted down all gears to 2nd.

When I went back home, nothing happend again...I was in Race with softer suspensions when I had this issue, on the way back home I was in Sport.

Anyone facing this ? any help?

Did you ever try to manually switch it into neutral, then re-engage a gear? I believe this is what the manual says to do.

So flip both paddles to go into neutral. Flip up paddle and computer will select appropriate gear for speed. Then try to downshift.

Next step of troubleshooting would be to pull over and turn off/on.

As to detective work, you could try an OBD scanner to see if there are any codes in the ECU or ask the dealer to take a look.

I just had a little hiccup myself on my new scud going into limp mode. Reboot (on/off) solved it.

Hope it's a simple fix. My scud went to neutral and wouldn't go into gear once when I was driving in the mountains. I pulled over, turned off the car, restarted it, and it was fine. That was many months ago and it hasn't happened since. I think these cars are vulnerable to electronic hiccups

when I bought my SCUD the gearbox light came on, it was fixed under warranty, air bubbles in the hydraulics it seems. However, the problem I had with my CS gearbox was far more serious, needed a new hydraulic pump, $9k

my car has not been inspected yet (they had too much work) but have been told could be one of these:
    - air bubbles in hydraulic system
    - F1 pump($)
    -hydraulic actuator ($$$)
    -complete gearbox failure ($$$$$$$$$$$$)
I really hope it's only air....

I just had the same situation with my 430 but 1st to second and second to third same issue as you describe. The F1 actuator was removed and the bleed screws reset and then the system re bled and now it is perfect. Seems to be common. It will either be that or a new actuator.

Since the car restarted fine after letting her cooling down, I belive (I hope) that there is air in the F1 hydraulic system. Air expands much more than oil when hot, creating bubbles that will compensate pressure during gear changes...this is my thought and my hope...

Otherwise could be only worst...and since my dealer has lots of work he did not even test my car with SD3 so I am bit anxious.

Yes after cool down it would shift fine but the next day issues. I also got a slow down war I g in the info center. One way to know almost certainly is will the car shift up and down automatically when downshifting and in total auto mode does it shift no problem? In auto mode it shifted fine only issue when manually pulling the paddles. Sorry for the broken message on a plane heading to Mexico City .

I had something similar happen. Accelerating hard in 2nd, about to upshift close to redline, transmission went into neutral and seemed like there was a disconnect in throttle response like the rev limiter kicked in. I upshifted and transmission went to 6th. I then downshifted and it dropped all the way back to 2nd. It has been operating fine since then.

Does the transmission do something to disengage in relation to the rev limiter? Wasn't watching the revs closely, I guess I was hypnotized by the incredible sound.

Usually not, the transmission will disengage only if there are problems related to the transmission itself. There is no point in disengaging if you hit the rev limiter, the rev limiter cuts out throttle to bring revs down.

That would be deadly also. If you hit the rev limiter mid turn, and the tranny disengaged, you would spin.

My Scud is back to life :) the problem was not a single problem but few generic problems that may have caused the car to shut down.
According to my Fdealer she now works fine, looking forward for the very next sunny week end...

My Fdealer told me that car sat too much in the last few years, I need now to put miles on it...she no longer will be a garage queen in my hands.
