While talking with Evan at FoSF yesterday he mentioned there will be a new Ferrari store going up in Redwood City on El Camino, should be completed by next spring or summer. One of the principals is the owner of Ferrari of Beverly Hills. It'll be nice to have a dealer located on the peninsula, but it'll be hard to beat FoSF for quality.

If Redwood City isn't in No Cal please let me know, and we'll get this moved to the So Cal forum. West coast geography isn't my strong point :D

Borrowing a phrase from Elvis, "a little less moderation, a little more action, please." Redwood City, home of the Scott Peterson trial, is indeed in Northern California.

The facility is being built by a tifosi (and fellow Mondial owner)contractor.

Sorry, I thought this might be of interest to the community as a whole. If you feel it is more appropriate in Nor Cal section, no problem.

Sorry guys, just trying to be "consistent" until the current noise dies down.

If you all want it moved back, buzz the nocal mod, I can't move it back.

Thanks for the heads up, finally there is a time period associated with the opening. They will be right in my backyard and most convinient. I also heard they will be taking majority of FoSF allocation for new cars.

It is owned by Art Zafiropoulo (owner of the F50 GT1 car) and Giacomo (sorry I don't recall his last name) from BH.

I've been lurking on fchat for quite some time now and this is my first post. My friend is also working on the project and apparently it's going to be Silicon Valley Ferrari and Maseratti. It's suppose to be by Woodside and El Camino kind of near the Target that's currently there.

From what I understand, Art has quite a collection of cars in addition to the F50 including a Carrera GT.

As for Giacomo, rumor has it he's the ex husband of Enzo Ferrari's daughter but I'm not sure of that.

I thought Art also had the Enzo, no?

I am dropping off the Maserati at FoSF for its first service and some minor warranty work, and it is a major production to go across the Golden Gate bridge. They were nice enough to offer a loaner (I wander what that might be), but I need to dissapear from work for half a day.
A peninsula location would be great. I wander....with my wife finishing her MBA in December, could she get a job there, in finance or administration....?

    thx

I guess Art has 80 Ferraris, he lives close by and I know poeple who know him. I would not be surprised if he was one of the first to be offered to purchase an Enzo.

Loaner? We Ferrari owners never heard of that... They treat the Mazer owners differently, I think it will be a Mazer for your pleasure and trouble of losing a 1/2 day for dropping the car off.

To give them full credit Kevin threw me the keys to his Mercedes yesterday when my car was getting the 5k service. I was in about 10:30 out at 3:00, so wife and I had a nice lunch in Sausalito along with some shopping.

I guess the big boys just shell out $250 to have their car brought on the flatbed to the dealership. Wife going shopping could be even more expensive. Soon, I would be looking at a $1500 oil change.

It is a good thing I work on my own Ferrari, or take it one town over to Johannes. I am not ever touching the Maserati. It is on warranty, and it looks like one needs a mainframe to troubleshoot just the A/C.

I am not entirely sure about the availability of loaners. I just asked, and they said that they had 2. One would be available in two weeks, so I scheduled my appt. accordingly.

I also heard the news of the dealership. Mid to late summer is what I heard, but the location was the old Toyota dealership in Palo Alto/Mountain View. Perhaps this changed to Woodside.

or wait; they're related thru FoBH aren't they?

    curious,

Wow! I am surprised...and the credit should be given when deserved. I guess I was always told they have two loaners for the Ferrari owners and I was never given the opoortunity. But it could also be becasue most of my routine maintenan services took more than a few weeks and they figured they could not afford providing a loaner...

From a location stand point, it would make sense to move in the GMC dealership on El Camino in Menlo Park that just vacated and moved. Near Target in Redwood City is difficult to imagine as I don't know of any reasonable locations there. They don't need big showroom but they do need a large service center.

Why, I think that was one of the conditions of ART...allocations, I cannot be specific but I heard is plenty for all those seeking new cars south of GG. I heard by their own estimate more than 60% of Ferrari owners are in this neck of the woods.

I certainly hope this doesn't reduce the allocations for FoSF, but rather increases allocations for the region as a whole.

Any new Ferrari dealer is not good news for the historical old line dealers like Risi at FOH. Do the math. In 2003, Ferrari imported roughly 1,300 cars. There were 33/34 dealers. If you are a Ferrari only dealer (and Maser because you have to) that also fields a racing team, this isn't good. Ferrari has already added one new dealer in NJ. Adding another dealership in the Bay area will further dilute the mix.

I guess good and bad. Going to be a little sad to see the guys up at FoSF lose a decent portion of their customer base. But nice to see one on the peninsula, saving a trip across the bridge. But this means I'll have to split my visits between 2 locations, erm...

Didn't FNA add a showroom in NY just recently too?

OK...who is staying up late? I need the address of the service location for FoSF. I know it is a couple exits on 101 from the showroom, but not sure which way....nothing on fna site, and nothing on google.
I can always come once I get there in the morning, but if anyone is reading this tonight, please post some rough directions.

I have it. The FoSF service brochure is sitting here on my desk.

This is in San Rafel, so yes, a little north of Mill Valley.

    Directions from SF:
    101 N exit Francisco Blvd.
    Right at Bellan Blvd.
    Right at Andersen Dr.
    Right at Du Bois St.

You should be able to see it once you're close. So basically, comming from the south, you go under the freeway on Andersen and continue for about 1/4 or maybe 1/2 of a mile at most and it'll be on your right side.

If you're comming from up north (Napa, etc.):
    101 S exit Andersen Dr.
    Right at Andersen Dr.
    Right at Du Bois St.

Nice place on a sunny day, as they seem to have cars parked outside then.

True in other regions Dale, but what you do not take into account is that Ferrari of Los Gatos has been closed since Feb1 03. FSF has been booked solid since then. Remember, FLG was one of the largest selling dealers in the country. There are a LOT of cars here in the south bay area. Over 60% of FSF customers are now from the south bay. This is a good thing for Ferrari owners in this area, just a bad thing for the Ferrari biz at my dealership, thankfully the Aston is coming (DB9) and the Elise has taken off. Bentley CGT 's are coming to us 3 at a time.
    Its getting busy down here!
