Hello All, New member here and would like to take a moment to introduce myself! I've been lurking around for some time using a friend's account but I recently acquired my childhood dream car so I decided it was time for an account of my own! The car is an October 1990 build 348 ts. I've been driving it for about a month and I still have a dumb grin on my face every time I start her up. I plan on going to a few meet-ups / drives so I'm sure I'll see some of you around. -Luke Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
You will find that besides the car being a blast that the 348 Brotherhood is extremely helpful and always willing to share. Congratulations on fulfilling your childhood dream!
Thank you, All! One of the biggest perks of the 348 is the amount of information on this site and the comradery of fellow owners.
Look for any of the posts in the 348/355 section regarding "Stooge" events. A definite must for any 348 owner is Southern California.
A Ferrari event for people how like to dig in and work on their cars. But if you're not even going to go to the 348/355 section like Peter suggested and find out, they're likely not your type of event.
Great group of knowledgeable guys who know the 348 as well as many other '70's - '90's Ferraris inside and out. The group expanded to 355's and then other models and now seems to be more of a social gathering of guys (and girls) that appreciate Ferrari's and those who like to occasionally turn a wrench on theirs or have a beer while watching others do so. Usually a gathering in the South Bay in the Spring and in Sherman Oaks in the Fall with the occasional track day or other events coming up every so often. It would be great to see a Testarossa at one of the gatherings.
Yup I knew that was coming. I googled it and poked around the forum but still wasn't sure...I debated then posted my question
Sorry. There are so many Stooge posts that I thought it was clear - but then I've been to a few so I have a different perspective. Really fun, great people... well except me.
Sounds good, Bruce! I've seen quite a few F cars in the neighborhood over the last few weeks. Would be nice to introduce mine to another 348
Let me be clear about Stooge events. They are allegedly for maintenance, repairs and tips. They are actually for tomfoolery, eating, drinking and telling a lot of lies. Especially if you are from the south... So, essentially all are invited and all will find something to relate to. The only people not really welcome are serious collectors of multiple cars who lord their fortune over the rest. Or concours rats who are going to tell us how many points we lost because we modded our rides. In that case, we have a non-heated swimming pool for you.
I am less serious collector and more hoarder of half broken jalopies. I can stand for tomfoolery. However, I draw the line at shenanigans The concours rats can keep their points. I own, drive, and occasionally modify cars to make myself happy. Not some stuffy judge. Are there any semi-regular South Bay meets/drives besides the monthly PV cars and coffee? Once the sun is out again, I'd like to attend.
