Here's a few pics of my new to me 94 348 Spider. It was delivered Wednesday. I got it from a family member who had bought it new in 94 right off the show room floor. Since then the car has only covered 8,000 miles. With the exception of a super sticky interior and good detail being needed it's pretty damn nice. Its still got that new Ferrari smell. Damn I love the smell of new Ferrari leather.:)

I originally thought about swapping my big brake kit and wheels from my trusty TB a.k.a. the Bushmobile. Some of you might remember this car ;). However, since my new car is time capsule I'm gonna leave it stock and enjoy the way it is. I do find the exhaust note to be a bit tame but have been advised by others that if I put the Tubi on a spider I will quickly hate the car. I love it on my TB but I guess it just to shrieky for open top motoring.

I'd like to give a big shout out to Brian & Sheila Poff of Poff Transportation for getting it to me safe and sound. Poff Transportation Rocks!!

Congratulations John. Although I have a Tubi on my 355 GTB, I seem to recall numerous members who have spiders really enjoying the exhaust note with their enhanced systems. Either way, you have a great looking car.

Congrats on the purchase! I've got a 95' Spider same spec but with a few mods, very jealous of your 8k miles...wow!

Go for the exhaust, you won't regret it. I've done a few long trips in the car, top down, and the noise is not an issue (nouvalari exhaust w/Fabspeed cat bypass). Around town top down or up its a pleasure to drive

OK, you pulled the trigger on the Spyder...sweet!, so what's next? Now you have two cool 348's and I take it the TB is going up for sale.
PS, don't know about those stock wheels?

Sweet and such nostalgia for me. Replace the wheels with 355 versions and that's all I'd do. :D

Congrats John. Great looking spider. I even love the stock wheels.

Let's go for a drive in Phoenix when all this rain stops.

John I met you and your red TB at the Wingate Festival earlier this year I believe. You had mentioned that you would be acquiring a Spider then. Glad you pulled the trigger, she's a beauty. Here's my 2 cents....

I've got a bone stock, triple black, 1995 348 Spider with 5,300 miles on it.....don't mess around with all that aftermarket stuff, enjoy it as you found it and as Ferrari intended it to be. They sound great top up or down and with the 12 extra HP you'll enjoy the little bit more get up and go.

    Ciao...

Everyone, thanks for the kind words and advice on the exhaust. I'm still really torn, that said it's been pouring rain since the car has been delivered so I still have'haven't really go to hear it at full chat. I will say that whatever they supposedly did to make the spiders a bit livelier is smoke and mirrors in my opinion anyway. My TB is a flat out rocket ship compared to this car. I do have performance ECU's, test pipes and Tubi so I'm sure that has a bit to do with it. Perhaps putting the hyperflow cats on with stock exhaust will pep her up a bit.

Vince, I'm not complaining, just say'n....;)

I was told that having a spider will be a completely different driving experience and I'm more than willing to make that adjustment. I've got the bad boy racer hot rod TB for terrorizing old ladies and children and the gentleman's driver spider for cruising around like a choir boy LOL.
Of course Bushwhacker is right the TB will most likely have to go as garage space is a bit limited and I would like to stay happily married. :D
Thanks again, I look forward to many happy years of spider enjoyment.

Oh, and Lou, it is a 94 with an October 93 build date

Greg, which car should I bring to S Bucks tomorrow?
My poor TB has been sitting in the other garage covered and feeling like nobody likes her. Honestly I forget I have it. I'm having so much fun with the Spider......my wife not so much. She says the wind messes up her hair and the sun is too strong......Yikes!!!
Oh yeah, what time you wanna meet?

Very sweet ride... Sometimes I wish I had pulled the trigger on the 348, but I couldn't resist the 355. I think the 348 is the more quintessential Ferrari.

John it was a pleasure looking at your new toy yesterday. What a CLEAN machine and I really like the color. But, could you do something with those Illinois yearly renewal tags on the plates? See you on Saturday and I still owe you coffee. :)

p.s. Vince, eat your heart out.......
