Excellent stuff. They did a good simple sub install behind the seats didnt they?? And the amp and capacitor, tidy and simple, but looks great. Rockford Fosgate stereo gear is brilliant. My brother had around AU$30K worth of Rockford gear in the boot of his old car.(Not a ferrari)
Did that challenge wheel bolt straight on?? Do all modern-ish ferrari's share the same steering wheel spline?? Or did you have to fit a boss-kit to make the new wheel fit. The challenge wheel is cool BTW :D

Yes, the wheel just bolted on directly as it is a momo wheel. I used the 348 horn pad which just fits on to the wheel like it does for the stock 348 wheel.

Makes me cry. Why do you need this sound from the back, will never understand it.

Why Gijs? Do you always rev your engine to 7500 when stuck in city traffic? I don't. It's nice to listen to some music at these times.

Thanks for the feedback. I do have the best sound on this car IMHO which is a Tubi exhaust with Hyper-flow cats. However, I do like some good tunes once in a while and so does my 14 year old son. My goal was to make the modifications fully reversible at any time. There was no cutting and no holes made anywhere. Even the amp is mounted to a special board in front not the car itself. The boxes for the subs were custom made out of fiberglass and covered in black leather behind the seat so it isn't as noticable until you move the seat forward. They have a press in fit no screws. The one thing I found out about these subwoofers is that they aren't really directional. If you mount them behind you or in the front trunk, like others have, the sound seems to be all around you. You really don't notice were it is coming from. The gain for the subs can be controlled with a dial under the dash so I can have a big thump for junior or little thump for me. The tweeters in the vents and the speakers in the doors were all upgraded although you can't see them. The sound is really awesome. I probabley listen to the stereo 30% of the time and listen to the car 70%

^^ No need to justify!! Music and cars are 2 out of my 3 greatest passions. Anyone who doesn't think they should be appreicated together is simply wrong. Out of repect to the car, you have done the right thing, making sure it is reverseable, nothing more to it than that.

That is exactly my thinking. I will be doing the stereo upgrade this summer. When I follow some of the South Florida Ferrari crew I can't hear my 348 anyway, so with a good stereo I can enjoy some tunes.
    Nice Job!

Well done Brent, and I agree that you have to have a good sound system besides the one from the engine. Mine has it as well.

The only sound system a Ferrari needs, is TUBI! Anyone agree?

"They have a press in fit no screws. "

Thank goodness! There have been 6 348's now that needed the tank tops welded because of system installers screwing the speaker to the fuel tank.
A little extra thought in this area can go a long way. Quickly removable. If your installer put a quick release plug on the back of the speaker box as well, he should be up for an award. Finished a major on a 360 that required 1.25 hrs to remove the speakers behind the seats to simply get at the fuse boxes. When the rear radar detectors was found to be hard wired to the bumper the side cutters came out.
Very nicely thought out, my compliments to the fabricator.

Good point Dave on the quick releases. Moreover, if you ever take your car on track, you'll need to pull those speakers because they'd become missles in even the smallest shunt. FCA regs usually call for nothing in the car when on track: no floor mats, no garage door openers, no jellybeans, nothing in the trunk, etc.

    SCHWING!!! You win. :) :)

You and "Lolaman" should talk... I was at his shop looking at a Swift DB2 last week. I'm trying to find a way to enjoy the track more, but risk my Ferrari less. Lolaman suggests the Swift as an ideal/solid ride. I'm still a bit partial to open wheel, but horribly "on the fence" right now.

Wow does that look good! I like the whole quick-disconnect setup and the overall setup where nothing was cut or drilled.

I really like your dash modifications, do you have any details on that? The carbon fiber center console looks real good, and I really like what you've done with the gauge clusters. Do you have a writeup on it?

Congrats on a job well done! Enjoy :D

Daniel it has been while, but if I remember correctly the DB2 is a sports 2000 racer? Is that correct? In the SCCA club races they used to run at the same time with us (formula atlantic). It looked like a fun car. David Bruns did an awesome job designing the DB1, DB2, DB3 and DB4 etc. I would think you would really enjoy the sports 2000 car. If you really want open wheel I know the Ralt RT-4 with a Cosworth is pretty bullet proof. If your just wanting to bang around on open track days an 1982 thru 1988 car would be fun and alot of speed for the money.

    Shaun,

I purchased all the stuff from f chat sponsors. Carbon fiber console was from Mac Carbon and the dash rings were purchased from Daniel at Ricambi. All great stuff.

Yup, although when you're driving in California traffic I can see why Brent did this, and the enclosures look nicely done. However with no soundproofing, no room for speakers and an open top, I'm going with the standard 328 setup:
