Here is how I spent my weekend. :) I first installed my new Hill Engineering pedal faces and dead pedal. I placed a sheet of black rubber under the dead pedal to give it a better look through the holes. Then I installed the Hill Eng. steering wheel spacer (1"). Next, I installed the amp and subwoofer into the center console. In order to have room, I had to remove the seatbelt mousetrap ECU's. The amp was a tight fit but I made it. The subwoofer is an 8" free air unit. It will not blow your doors off but it does give a nice low end to my sound system. Thanks to Roberto for inspiring me to do this. ;) I am waiting on my MAF sensor to return from Python Injection after they rebuilt it. So, I will not be able to test out how the wheel spacer works. But just sitting in the car, it feels good. I will let you know how it feels as soon as I get to test it. I expect the MAF to arrive Tuesday. Fun weekend! :D

No, there is no script under the cavallino. They were in the car when I bought it. I assumed they were stock.

There are a few guys on here that have them installed in their Ferraris. :):)

From memory, a couple were taller guys and they said it was beneficial having one fitted. :):)

I've had mine installed for the past year, and it makes a big difference by bringing the wheel back to a position where you can work the wheel.

This a shot from when I removed the steering column shroud for refinishing and to remove the air bag warning lamp because of the aftermarket wheel.

    You removed your mouse ecu's?

So where are they stuck now? By the seat or the door near the front?

I am using the SS seats so I have to use the mouse rail. I am trying to figure out how to permanently make the seatbelt clip stay by the seat instead of running back to the front whenever I open the door.

How do I make the stop by the seat permanently?

Just close the doors and wait for the seat belt clips to run down beside the seats. Then unplug the ecu's. Done. ;)

Here is what you do. Get in the passenger seat, both doors closed, turn ignition to start - this will ensure both mice are engaged (next to the seat). Now, you can turn off the ignition (do not open any of the doors), while seated, reach down and disconnect both ecu's. FYI, just be careful not the brake the ecu connection, as one side comes out before you can unhook the connection. its much easier than said......study the connection before disconnecting. Good Luck.....

Sorry, I forgot to add the part about turning the key off before unplugging the ecu's. It is a tight fit to reach down and unplug them with the doors shut. If you have someone to help you, you can have them leave the passenger door open and reach in and press the pushbuttons in the door jab. This will move the seat belt clip and still allow you to get into the floor board to easily unplug the ecu's.

    That's a good idea.

I had a hard time envisioning my 6'4" frame bending over in the passenger seat doing this...

Thanks Bob for the pic and your feedback! I really look forward to trying the spacer out soon. My MAF should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday so it will not be long now. ;)

Good suggestion. This was my initial idea, but I couldn't locate the pushbuttons. Where is it???

They are located just under the lower door hinge. There are two push buttons. You only need to press one of them but I forget which one. Just push one at a time until the seat belt clip takes off. ;)

Nice stuff. No 348 should be left to suffer through its life without these cool HE bolt-ons. I disconnected those pesky mice not long after I purchased my 348. What were they thinking?? Wish I had Kai's Challenge seats, though...

I received my rebuilt MAF sensor today! Wow! My 348 has never run so smooth or strong! :D:D Idle is like butter. No CEL's. Great stuff! Python Injection did a great job on my MAF. I have now had both of them done by Python. I highly recommend them. Anyway, I just got back from a two hour joy ride. I am loving the Hill Eng. steering wheel spacer!!! It made me so much more comfortable and I felt like I had better leverage on the wheel in the turns. So, any of you out there who are thinking about trying one, just do it! The turn signal is still close enough that you can reach it with your fingers without having to stretch out for it. Thanks Ricambi and Hill! ;)

That is great to hear!! I cleaned my MAFs a few years ago. Car was running perfect before and after, but they did have some gunk on the 'hot wire' which is why I cleaned them both. :):)

Impressed about the wheel spacer! Thanks for sharing and the two hour joy ride would have been fun. :):)
