My newly acquired 488 came with this Ferrari branded charger. I preferred my earlier CTEK charger (battery minder) as it had the ascending row of lights as it went through its checks. The dealer tells me this is the unit that Ferrari now supplies, and when I looked in the showroom the Roma did have this type. Does anyone have any experience with this new design of charger?

It uses multiple colors, when first plugged in is flashing red (no sound) as it perform diagnostics and then within a few seconds, if all good (especially if the connection end at the rear bumper is sufficient) turns solid yellow and remains until fully charged at such time turns green.

If the connector loses a 'solid' connection while charging (or has dirty connectors) it will start beeping until resolved or unplugged. This can occur after it has been charging for a while, so if you hear beeping, it is likely the connector is not on solidly.

That is what came with my 2019 Portofino, and it has worked fine for about three years. There are two lights behind the lens: red and green. Both lights are on during charging (which looks amber) and when fully charged the red goes out and only green shows.

Thanks guys, yes this is how mine behaves, yellow for a while then green when fully charged. So as I was told, this must be the 'new' Ferrari supplied model.
The magnet connector does not seem as strong as the CETEK one that my Cali T had, so the comment about having a secure connection was a good one. I have to stretch the charging lead across to the right hand side of the bumper so have to make sure it is a positive connection.

Just used to test with my new ROMA. Depending on the angle you look at the one light, it can be almost all four colors. It's not too clear if all is good or bad!

Will have to store ROMA for a month. Does anyone leave charger on for over a month in storage?

That's what a battery tender is designed for.

Hello guys, this charger can fully recover the battery in case of discharging? And allow the car to switch on?

The tender/maintainer (called "conditioner" by Ferrari) is not designed to charge a dead or heavily discharged battery. If your car won't start, you can try the tender but if it works it may take a long time (even days) to recharge the battery. The tender is supposed to be hooked up when you are not driving the car in order to keep the battery fully charged when the car sits. When the car is parked and locked, there are still devices drawing current.

Don't have a Roma, but assume it uses the same magnetic connector as the F8 / Portofino M. I highly recommend:

Battery tender: CTEK 7002 https://www.amazon.com/CTEK-56-353-12-Volt-Battery-Charger/dp/B000FRLO9Y/ref=sr_1_5?crid=12L1Q97YCLE22&keywords=ctek+7002&qid=1671214566&sprefix=ctek+7002%2Caps%2C194&sr=8-5&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0 (I have one on all my cars, including my 458 and Portofino M)

    optional extension cable: https://www.amazon.com/CTEK-56-304-Comfort-Connect-Extension/dp/B00ADIHUVG/ref=pd_bxgy_img_sccl_1/135-0256143-7726263?pd_rd_w=TuMbP&content-id=amzn1.sym.7f0cf323-50c6-49e3-b3f9-63546bb79c92&pf_rd_p=7f0cf323-50c6-49e3-b3f9-63546bb79c92&pf_rd_r=5MHR20CHVPTK489XNW6H&pd_rd_wg=RKKXi&pd_rd_r=8cfbf7e0-0ea9-4d9e-8140-8d44e3e88a75&pd_rd_i=B00ADIHUVG&psc=1

    STEP 1 DESULPHATION
Detects sulphated batteries. Pulsing current and voltage, removes sulphate from the lead plates of the battery restoring the battery capacity.
    STEP 2 SOFT START
Tests if the battery can accept charge. This step prevents that charging proceeds with a defect battery.
    STEP 3 BULK
Charging with maximum current until approximately 80% battery capacity.
    STEP 4 ABSORPTION
Charging with declining current to maximize up to 100% battery capacity.
    STEP 5 ANALYSE
Tests if the battery can hold charge. Batteries that can not hold charge may need to be replaced.
    STEP 6 RECOND
Choose the Recond program to add the Recond step to the charging process. During the Recond step voltage increases to create controlled gassing in the battery. Gasing mixes the battery acid and gives back energy to the battery.
    STEP 7 FLOAT
Maintaining the battery voltage at maximum level by providing a constant voltage charge.
    STEP 8 PULSE
Maintaining the battery at 95–100% capacity. The charger monitors the battery voltage and gives a pulse when necessary to keep the battery fully charged
