Any comments on the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 XL or suggestions on others
RE-11 comes up a lot on fchat and is highly recommended by all who have used them. I'm putting new tires on mine in the Spring and will be going with RE-11.
Goodyear wears out fast also IMO. What about Hancook? I remember reading something in the 360/430 section.
Have the Hancooks on the wifes Boxster and we really like them for their grip and smooth ride. But i havent pushed it too hard in a turn, though wife does! Having said all of this probably wpuldnt use on our ferrari, would probably go with the Stones. Maybe a bit of tire prejudism Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
I've had Hankooks on my 360 for 6 months now. They are very quiet and handling is good for spirited street driving. I also had it on the track once but the tires were still pretty new back then. They didn't seem to grip as well as the Pzeros. I think they are fine for road use.
I love the Michelin Pilot Sport tires... Have them on all my sport cars. Great wet and dry use. I just put Pilot Sport II on my 360 and so far they feel great IMHO.
do a search. Folks that seem to know, recommend the RE-11. What is the "XL" you included? Also, the rear RE-11s are on "backorder" with a December due date across the country. I've been looking to get a set asap and no luck thus far.
Pilot Super Sport (PSS) are a significant improvement on the PS2. Very, very good wet/damp tyre but narrowly beaten by the RE11s for dry use I understand.
Same here - I currently only have a bit over 800 miles on them so I can't comment on long term use, but decent grip and I prefer the feel over the Pirelli
Currently have Michelin Pilot SS on my 360 and can't get them off quick enough. My RE-11's came in yesterday and the car will be on track this afternoon for some mild lapping. Running the Bridgestones on my GT3 as well and they are great.
Will be interested in your impressions of the RE-11's. I have been running Toyo R888's for the past two years and have been pretty happy with them, although the heat build up is an issue. Rob
I just replaced my original Perrelli's and was told you could only run Perrilli's on a 360. I prefer Michelins and have them on all my other cars but the dealer where I take the car for service only would put Perrilli's.
I wonder what else they are lying to you about? You can put whatever you want on them as long as the size is correct.
Yeah, you were told an outright lie. As long as the size it right, and they have the correct load and speed ratings, you can use whatever you like.
Yeah? What are your problems with MPSS? Have you selected bad sizes or running incorrect pressures or something? Oh... and welcome to Fchat - interesting first post!
Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it. Tires are correct size and pressures were good. The BIGGEST problem with my Michelins was that they were apparently mfg in 2003!! That being said, I'm still not a fan of the brand. I've run PS2's, PS Cups and just felt like for what I was paying - I was not getting good ROI. As stated, I'm knew here and this is my first Ferrari and I love her, but she won't be seeing alot of track time so I may feel differently about Michelins on a car that's not being tracked every weekend as my P-Cars were and still are. I will say that after putting 400 or so miles on the Bridgestones - I am very happy with them.
I am very happy with my Bridgestones. The Pirelli's wore out in less than 5k miles, at least on the rears.
