Wasn't really thinking anything...just didn't want to assume I had the proper fit or if there were other better/equal options.
I decided to get all 4 tires at once, the shop told me they would give me 120 credit for the fronts so why not?? So now I have the new 4S tire in combination 1 285/35R18 225/40R18 Let’s see how they behave after the break-in period Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mine were at the worn bars and needless to say the car gets extremely “vivid” at that level. Even in bone dry surface Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have my 2004 360 completely stock but just got the MPSS at 235/40/18 and 275/40/18 respectively as that over width but lower profile on the front was pretty close and it seems that width on non-lowered cars does not seem to be an issue (from the thread members notes here) - really looking forward to getting these mounted up after the snow melts..
I was just directed to this excellent thread. I’m uk based, can’t get PS4S tyres, and would like to upgrade from the stock Bridgestone S02 to MPSS. I’ve read through the thread, and think my best option is option 2 from the above on MPSS. Can someone who is running this combo describe how the car drives? I want to get this right, and avoid ABS issues on a 2001 360 spider. I understand my speedo will over read a little more (mine already over-reads fairly heavily in classic Ferrari style!) than it currently does!
Hi there you are not going to have ABS issues with either combination above, Regarding the Speedo, in theory you should not have more difference because you are not changing the rear tire size which is where the speedometer is located. 360 speedometers are always “optimistic”, even with OEM sizes front and back I am not sure it is a “Ferrari thing” because my 1988 Testarossa is spot on!! Thanks! Logic says to me 225 & 275 could be a nice combination since it may ever so slightly reduce understeer? It seems Euro/UK 360 owners are not as brave with veering away from Pirelli / Bridgestone OEM tyres as those in America! I suppose the other option is 19s with F430 tyre sizes, but then on UK roads 18s will probably be nicer on the 360. I’ve never driven a 360 on 19s - only an F430. Speedo thing was partially in jest, but good to know
Too bad you can’t get the 4S it is the best tire I have ever used (better than PSS) only second to track tires (Cup 2, Trofeo etc) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes, it’s a great shame that the PS4S in 18inch sizes doesn’t seem to be coming to market in Europe. I’m not sure it’s worth going to 19s purely for the PS4S though?
No actually it is not worth it unless you are actually looking for a change of look Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agreed. 19” wheels also weigh more, so you would be giving up performance. It matters less on a 430 because that car has more HP and greater torque. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Why don’t you call Michelin?? Maybe you can special order them Because they do make the tire and 18 sizes were not available here until recently (February) maybe they are about to be available soon on the other side of the pond Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I purchased a full set of MPSS - 235/40R18, & 275/40R18 - for a total of $1190 April 2016. They're mounted on the modular wheels and they've been perfect. No rubbing on fenders (they've been rolled). Very happy with them. No problems. The place I used was very careful about mounting & balancing. Only have about 1000 miles on them.
I did email Michelin, but no luck.... There’s also the possibility of importing from the states but then they are technically not legal for Europe I think. I suppose another option is to get BBS 18s, but not sure what the recommended sizes are for those, or whether they match available PSS Euro tyre sizes that are available? Either way, presumably I should try and aim for generic versions of the tyres, as most 18in PSS are coded for BMW?
I think Sam's choice may have been related more to not wanting to pay a lot to upgrade to 19" CS wheels which he claims are now £4k, I sold mine for £2k with £1k worth of new tires a few years ago mind so prices must have jumped! Also Pirelli sponsored him so I guess that means he got those tires for free! Still the night and day difference between running either MPSS or PS4S, it is so stark I think I would have personally sourced a set of lightweight 19" BBS Fi alloys and fitted PS4S tires to them. Transformational. I'm just in the position now of changing my MPSS tires but having centrelock 19s with a whopping 10.5" rear and 8" fronts means I'm going with 245 up front and 305 rear with PS4S, did consider Cup 2's and even Pirelli Trofeo R's but they are too focused to dry weather and for road trips I think the PS4S may be about the best you can currently get. Btw if you are buying Pirelli's in UK check out blackcircles.com as they have offer on if your buying 4 tires you can enter a discount code 4MICH40 and get £40 off the order.
Hey here is a short video of my 360 with Challenge exhaust system should running this weekend fingers cross
I just put Firestone Firehawks on my 19” CS wheels. For the 3000miles of summer driving I do annually , all street/highway, they should be fine and are highly rated for a value priced tire.
