What should the idle speed at tickover fully warmed up be? What oil pressure cold at tickover on gauge? Clutch pedal has no travel...ie if you touch the pedal the clutch slips..although flat out no slip..when does it need changing? Cambelt and tensioners was done in 2000 has done 10000 miles since...now in 2005 i guess the belt needs changing? What is the interval on a 1990 348? Whining noise (unfortunately not the Missus this time LOL) i guess transmission..seems to go in reverse then once you floor it in fwd gear it starts up again quite loud!...No issues in gear changes..perfect??? Any help appreciated...it was bought cheap and is gonna be mainly DIY..so dont worry about giving me bad news.....
Mine idles right at 1,000 rpm warmed up. Cannot help you with the noises, etc but there are others who may be able to. In theory you'd be due for a major service as well after five years. Enjoy - I know ernie and fatbillybob wrench on their 348's regularly so should be able to help you out. Cheers Kevin
....just found out that the whining noise was the air con kicking in and out!!!!!!!!!! DOH LOL. So thats one concern out the way! Just set the idle to 1000rpm
1000 rpm idle Oil pressure at idle should be right at the first "1/4" mark, hot or cold. Different weight oils will vary that setting only slightly. Change the clutch when you detect slippage upon acceleration in gear.
Hi there Used to have a 348. I think most the answers to your questions will be in the 348 OM. Vaguely remebered that my idle was just below 1000 rpm when warmed up. possibly approx around 800 rpm.
1991TS 4800 miles (was bought as garage queen, but now being used at last!) Mine shows idle at 1000rpm (on the instrument gauge) Oil pressure at idle is first 1/4 mark (35psi) on a hot (uk!) summers day running Mobil 1.
