Just wanted to stop by and say hello. After living in Southern California my entire life, I just moved to Australia on a 4 year Visa. This was my first time out of North America, so my head is spinning a bit. Other than watching out for PAP, is there anything I should know? Any good Ferrari gatherings? Thanks!
WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA JERRY!!! Hope you enjoy your stay mate!! There are a good bunch of Aussie Fchat blokes in Sydney. They will be sure to look after you. Just stay away from that Speedcore dude and DO NOT let him take you for drinks to the Blue Oyster Bar! Again, enjoy your stay mate and we may be able to catch up one day.
Welcome to Australia Did you live in Hollywood? I need a place to stalk Hayden from when I eventually get to the US. You have a better chance of meeting President Obama visiting Australia then you have of bumping into PAP The Ferrari dealer is in the city. Most of the Ferrari gatherings happen with the Ferrari club. Every 6 months we have a fchat meet. Which will hopefully happen in Oct or Nov next. There is a Ferrari concours happening in 3weeks time in Sydney.

The movie 'Wake in Fright' will teach you everything you need to know about living in Australia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_in_Fright
Australians will call you a Yank, just deal with it now Since you have made Sydney your home. Ppl from Queensland are considered Canadians and ppl from Victoria are Mexicans The 2 big sport codes you need to get your head around is NRL (Rugby League) and Cricket (in the summer). The NRL Grand Final is on next weekend, get to a local pub to get the atmosphere. If you aren't a big beer drinker, start practising Webber has now become your 2nd driver to support in F1. The speed signs are in KM'H not Miles Everyone travels 10km'h over the limit but slow down for fixed cameras. On any given road the speed limit might change a dozen times and a copper is happy to point that out. Unlike the states where cities are in grids Sydney roads are formed from Chaos. It wont make any sense at the start Only criminals are allowed to carry guns. Norton St, is the "Little Italy" of Sydney.. Spring time the weather gets a bit weird don't worry by November it will be like California
you should visit Adelaide and the great wineries that are here, give me a shout and I would be happy to be your tour guide
Another thing. You don't have to tip anyone ever again if you don't want too They get paid full wages here. We don't get brought up to tip people. Of course tipping still happens depending on the occasion but there is no set % you have to tip. Some ppl think giving loose change is enough of a tip others wont tip no matter what. Just giving you a heads up so you don't feel weird around people if they don't want to tip. I tip based on how drunk I am and how hot the waitress is hahaha.
Thanks all for the tips and warm wishes! I don't have my equipment yet for an internet connection, so I can only check back occasionally when I can find a signal. Only been here a few days, but I love it already. Pity it took me 37 years to find this place!
