Hey guys, I'm new to the California area of Bridgeport. I'm in the military out here for work, but I'm also a member of the Ferrari Club of America. I don't personally own a Ferrari yet, but I've had my sights set on a 430 after my enlistment is up. Anyhow, I really love the view here and I was curious if any F Chat members live in the area? I'm originally from Virginia and they hosted Ferrari events there alot. Do you guys do any gatherings or shows nearby? Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you guys and getting familiar with the area!!!

    Welcome!

There a general "interesting car" gathering at Santana Row in San Jose on Saturday mornings. Things start around 9:30-ish and proceed until shoppers get too thick. Ferraris and all others forms of cars show up.

The FOG (Ferrari Owner's Group) has spirited runs every second week or so near the coast. Starting point and destinations vary, so sign up if interested. Non-exotics are welcome.

Since you're in the Sierras, you might want to reach out the the Reno/Sacramento crowd. They have their own events.

Overall, you'll find the NorCal scene pretty vibrant if perhaps not quite as spectacular as the SoCal crowd.

    LOL!

Having lived in both places the variety of unusual cars (see spotters thread for my taste for oddities) as well as unGodly expensive cars just showing up on the streets at random is far greater along the coast in SoCal. When I didn't have a garage to service my Verde, I would take it to a shop near the beach. I would hop the bus to the beach and car watch. Good times!

That said, the FOG is a far closer group than anyone I've met outside of the SoCal Alfa club. Those folks are so close it makes hillbilliy family reunions look standoffish. ;)

Looks like Reno is about 2 and a half hours away. They have a group that meets every two weeks. I believe the next one is on the 29th. Check out their thread in the Northern California section and their website. http://www.highoctaneevenings.com/ If you're ever in the Sacramento area, check out the SACRED thread. Hope you get your F430. Ferraris are great cars. They will exceed all of your expectations. Mine has.
