new to chat 412 hot no crank problem help.

    Thanks for taking the time to read this. This is my first thread and I appreciate any info you may add.
    My 412 has 45k and starts, and runs well. If it's warm and I go into a store for a minute and shut it down it doesn't even click when I go to restart. If I wait for it to cool down (2 hrs sometimes, long coffee break!) it whizzes right over and starts up. Huh?
    I'm thinking the basics like grounds at the starter and wiring but am I missing something? Mark

    Do a search on "TR solenoid" (here and at the old site) -- a lot of us from that era have had that exact same "no hot start, not even a click" problem that seems to go away when cool. Although, you are, of course, right that many other wiring problems can be the cause, most here have been resolved by replacing the solenoid. Those same threads will give you all the background/approaches. Welcome and Happy Hunting...
