This morning was the first time I drove the car in the dark (purchased 14 Feb 14). With the headlights on the back lighting on the gauges was dark. The needles were lit, fuel gauge lit, HVAC controls lit, all of the other buttons were lit, but with the gauges (tach, speedo, oil, water) only the needles lit up. With the car running and the lights off the gauges are all back lit just fine. Any idea as to why this is? I can't find any type of dash dimmer like you find on other cars.

How do the lock buttons inside the car work? I pull up on the lock and nothing happens. The car locks and unlocks fine with the button in the key and manually using the door key slots.

The car is a 2007 coupe. Thanks for any and all replies.

Both of those are not normal as far as I know.

On mine, the gauges are backlit as soon as I turn the sidelights or headlights on.

The lock switch on the doors should just lock the doors when you pull it upwards, certainly does on mine.

Edit - Oh wait, you can adjust the brightness using the two buttons to the side of the steering wheel (set/mode). Hold one of them down and it'll give you the brightness options :)

On mine the tach went black at night so you didn't have to stare at this giant yellow disc.

I forget exactly which button, but if you press the menu or display (or both?) and hold it, you will get the menu for setting time, etc, and one of the options is the backlighting- I think it goes in steps from 1-30. The backlighting on these cars is not the brightest, so even at 30 it won't be that bright.

Yeah, if it's the same as the 360, just press the one that doesn't zero the odometer and hold for a few seconds, then use the other button to step from 0~30. Might well be just set quite low.

The locks issue is fairly common on 360s also. You probably need to pull off the arm-rest (pull upwards from rear most end) and there's a wee adjustment you can make to the rod to which the lock button is attached.

Thanks everyone. I now have proper illumination on the dash. I really need to take a few hours and go through everything the mode buttons do. I did figure out the clock, outside temp, and TPMS readouts. It seems this unit controls quite a few functions. I'll dig into the door lock issue at a later time. I can secure the car with the key for now.
