Do you come out to any C&C events? There's something going on every weekend. A big Porsche one on the 1st Sat of the month is at 4 til 4 coffee shop in Old Town Scottsdale. Even though its mainly Porsches, some carpet baggers show up from time to time.

Several good Saturday and Sunday get-togethers over here, now coming to a close as summer approaches.
If you find a 308 for sale. I'd be happy to help you with an inspection. I've had 4 of them.

 

Once properly tuned, the carburated cars run just fine. Cooling systems have to be in the best of shape to tolerate hot weather. The AC systems are marginal at best in the earlier cars. I had a '75 Dino GT4, '77 308 GTB, 81 308 GTBi and 84 308 QV. None of them had AC units that worked very well above 90*.... too much glass and not enough fan. OTOH my '99 Modena coupe had an AC system that was as good as any car I have driven. Even here in Phoenix.
Don't worry about carbs. I currently drive a 1971 365 GTC/4. Six twin choke webers. Set up correctly and without any problems year 'round. Although I do not drive the car much when we see temperature extremes during the summer here.

Check out Alpios this Saturday. Always lots of Porches there and usually at least one Healy, plus of course, Ferraris.

Alpios is great - Jomax and Alma School - just get there early (7AM) if you want to display a car. Most folks are gone by 10 AM.

 

There was a C&C in Goodyear last Sunday. The grandkids were in town and wanted to do something. I showed up with a McLaren and it was a big hit. The event was a lot of low riders and projects, but everyone was friendly and appreciated the car. People asking questions, taking pictures and admitting they had never seen one..... except in magazines. The Scottsdale crew generally won't go South of the 60 or West of the 51. There are car enthusiast at all levels and if you don't act like a prick, you can have a good time anywhere.

Update?

 

Looks like you'll be getting the car when its about nice driving season here (cooler). We can caravan to a C&C in September!

 

HighStreet 1st sat of each month.

And there is a pretty fun drive every Thursday night that we often go to.

 

Please tell me about the Thursday night drive. I'm out in the ghetto (Goodyear ) and have no problem being anywhere in the valley.

 

I will let you know for sure. The last one I heard was a disaster, so I am unsure if they are taking a break! I will update as I find out.

It is posted on Socials the day of as to the meeting spot. My kiddo keeps track of it!
